Cool, I'm going back to school part-time in history in the fall, which was why I asked.

Don't think I want to teach, though...seems like a lot of stress!

So yes, without American involvement you'd be ****ed.

And did I mention I was a certified history teacher with a Masters degree?
Actually if you read the texts book you will find out that Henry V11 and Henry V111 of England both funded trips around the world which as a result of this a continent which was later named America was discovered. I think it was Christopher Columbus but my names arent always accurate.

And on the "heavy water" experiments i would like to point out that it was a group of about 8 elite men who waded through the snow to reach the main plantation of this stuff. Of this small group of people about 6 were Norwegian and/or swedish. I think one might have been British and one was a German defector. So no you didnt help in that course of the war it was all masterminded by Norwegians and the like. They made a movie on it, i cant remember the name of the operation though sorry.

Which leads me onto my next point that the fact that you have a masters degree in history makes your situation even worse. You should know exactly what happened then, but in fact your being outdone by a 16 year old boy from little old England. Oh yeah and if you want to question my resources send an email to the history channel and Englands Channel 4 because i saw the same documentary on the "heavy water" supplies on both of these programmes.

EDIT: hold on a minute i have just read the other threads u made and u contradicted yourself. On one you said you had a masters degree and then you said you had double in history. Make up your mind lol.

Oh and dont take offence please. this post may seem to be an insult to your knowledge but its not. Im just informing you of some facts.

So our fighters are "pansies". Does that explain why we have the most elite hit squad ~(if u want to call it that) in the world, that is the SAS. Also does it explain why America calls in the British to train them. Oh yeah and does it explain why the Americans have the highest friendly fire rate out of the coalition in Iraq at the moment.

I don't take offense because I know what I am talking about and you do not.

              Holy **** you're ******!!

              Now listen carefully...

Columbus incorrectly calculated that the Earth was 25% smaller than was previously thought, and composed mostly of land. Based on this faulty belief he thought that Asia could be reached quickly by sailing west. In 1484 he submitted his theories to John II, king of Portugal, petitioning him to finance a westward crossing of the Atlantic Ocean. However, his proposal was rejected by a royal maritime commission because of his miscalculations and because Portuguese ships were already rounding Africa.

Soon after, Columbus moved to Spain, where he continued to seek support for his plan and in 1492 his persistence was rewarded: Ferdinand V, king of Castile, and Queen Isabella agreed to sponsor the expedition.

Now before you copy my information down and use it in your next school essay, I'm going to let you in on a little secret.

Columbus wasn't the first person to discover America.

              shhh... Don't tell anybody.

As for the heavy water experiments and the history of WWII in general there is an enormous difference between my knowledge on the subject and yours. Mine comes from reading dozens of historic and scientific journals. Yours comes from watching a documentary and in all likelyhood misinterpreting the content.

You do seem to have an authentic interest in History which I condone. Therefore I am going to set you off in the right direction.

Read Heisenberg's War: The Secret History of the German Bomb by Thomas Powers and The Making of the Atomic Bomb by Richard Rhodes. When you are finished get back to me.
