When the **** did this thread turn into ****in American History Thread?? STFU ****heads. LETS TALK ABOUT MIKE!

Im seeing all these ******s like INHALER saying **** like he brought all these terrible things on himself, but what the **** do you think will happen if millions of dollars are handed to a little teenager who has no family or true friends supporting him? Thats right...this guy came from poverty and all of a sudden he is handling millions of dollars all to himself! Don't blame him, blame these ****ers who were selfish at the time and forced Mike to become this little show. DK especially, that dumbass looking jibberish talking son of a *****. You guys dogging on MIke is like dogging on a 3 year old for not being able to speak perfect english. This guy has MENTAL PROBLEMS for crying out loud! Have some sympathy gosh dammit! I am just amazed at how good he was at kicking these people's asses not having his head clear. Imagine what would have happened if he had his mind right. MIKE IS THE ****! All you haters suck my ****! He is ONE of the GREATEST HW of ALL TIME!

        Holy **** you're ******!!

        Now listen carefully...

Columbus incorrectly calculated that the Earth was 25% smaller than was previously thought, and composed mostly of land. Based on this faulty belief he thought that Asia could be reached quickly by sailing west. In 1484 he submitted his theories to John II, king of Portugal, petitioning him to finance a westward crossing of the Atlantic Ocean. However, his proposal was rejected by a royal maritime commission because of his miscalculations and because Portuguese ships were already rounding Africa.

Soon after, Columbus moved to Spain, where he continued to seek support for his plan and in 1492 his persistence was rewarded: Ferdinand V, king of Castile, and Queen Isabella agreed to sponsor the expedition.

Now before you copy my information down and use it in your next school essay, I'm going to let you in on a little secret.

Columbus wasn't the first person to discover America.

        shhh... Don't tell anybody.

As for the heavy water experiments and the history of WWII in general there is an enormous difference between my knowledge on the subject and yours. Mine comes from reading dozens of historic and scientific journals. Yours comes from watching a documentary and in all likelyhood misinterpreting the content.

You do seem to have an authentic interest in History which I condone. Therefore I am going to set you off in the right direction.

Read Heisenberg's War: The Secret History of the German Bomb by Thomas Powers and The Making of the Atomic Bomb by Richard Rhodes. When you are finished get back to me.
Ok its kool u didnt take offence to my post, many do.

I agree with everything u said up until 149, when u said that Columbus moved to Spain and received support from there, he also seeked support from England aswell. Either that or he DID receive support from England whilst he was living in Spain. Probably the result of the Medina Del Campo (1489) which was an alliance between Spain and England, the main clause being the marriage agreement of Isabella and Henry V11 son.

The thing about the heavy water experiments i would like to say that i most DEFINETLY did not misinterpret any of the information on the 2 documentaries that i saw on this topic. Firstly the narration stated the composition of the team which destroyed the plant in the middle of nowhere. I think they done it by sinking a boat which contained the supplies and by using spies in the plant, to help them do this. The boat was sunk at a critical point which would mean that the heavy water supplies would not be able to be recovered. Also they had interviews with all of the remaining alive ones. (i think only 2 of them are dead). Almost all of these required subtitles to be able to translate what they were saying so they definetly were not American.

Thanks for the recommendations on the books, i may read them, especially if im doing WW11 as part of my A-Level course next year.

p.s Im happy this didnt turn into an immature ***** fight, as opposed to the adult discussion it is now.

Haha this one made me laugh. Why did u quote me this post had nothing to do with my previous post. Anyway at the time that picture was taken Tupac was spitting at the journalist's who had been harrasing him about one of his court case's. I think it was the first **** one. The doo rag look was just an original thing i spose. I mean i never saw ice-cube and crew wear it before him but as soon as he started they all followed suit. Never even heard of Deion forgive my ignorance, but he cant be that good if many havent heard of him. Tupac is in my top 3 artist's of all time and ive heard like a third of his music, thats all.

The ending of last Saturday's bout is surely a sad one, but more or less inevitable. I guess, that is the end of boxing career of Mike Tyson and the hope for all his fans (including me)ever seeing him fight again. Hence, we should accept this fact and relieve all his fights from his glorious days. After all, history would speak for itself that he was the most exciting boxer to watch ever!

Wearing a du rag is just a comfortable means of covering your head, it doesnt make you anything more than what you are.

Regardless, i will say i honestly connected with mike tyson, i grew up without my father for the most part, without my mother, i dont know where id be, i was kept out of trouble, and kept away from a ****ty crowd in the projects i lived in in san francisco. Mike didint have that, he had one man who loved him like a son and he lost him. I hope he finds love within his kids, i seriously do.
