Didn't see the conference but saw the post-fight interview, even them he seemed a lot more relaxed than usual. Maybe now that he's let boxing go he can get rid of a lot of his old demons.

That would make sense, apparently he would beat on Robin and then cry about it for hours afterward. Insane or not there's not excuse for the abuse, but all indications are he had little to no control over himself for most of his career.

i think if he were on the correct medications, he might not have done some of things he has done. some people are a threat to themselves and others if not properly medicated.....that could be used as an excuse

Yes, it's true, I just want to be careful what I say here. But you're right. The thing is that Tyson is a classic example of what can happen to a guy with a few problems in the world of professional boxing, especially the DK-ruled part of that world. There's nobody looking out for the fighter enough to help him out with this sort of problem. As long as he can still generate $$$, it doesn't matter what's wrong with him.

You look at football and there are team doctors, team therapists and all kinds of other people to take care of the athletes.

            i agree 100%

i think tysons mental stability helped DK keep him under control for so long. i mean if tyson was able to think properly/clearly i doubt he would have let king get away with some of the things he did. tysons fragile mental state allowed king to manipulate him for so long imo. iam not trying to make excuses for this fight, tyson is clearly past his prime but i do believe tysons mental state has severly hampered his career in and out of the ring.

I'm glad I can read some respectable comments about Tyson. I know the result of the fight and everything and it sounds like he just had a moment of clarity and then said to himself, "I don't love this anymore" and decided to call it a career.

Good initial post Truth, I think Tyson will fade into the sunset as a legend or somewhat of a myth that you tell younger generations about. RIP "Iron" Mike and hello Mike the human being.

Go ahead make fun of him, call him a quitter and a loser. It doesn't matter anymore...it was it was but its now over. For all the haters out there Tyson would simply say **** you!, for all the fans he would say don't be sad be happy and remember the good moments. All great careers come to end.

                  Peace Iron Mike Tyson
