I can count the times Clottey landed on two hands (near literally), but Pac's face showed a surprising amount of damage. Pac would be at a hand speed, size, and perhaps power disadvantage vs Berto. Again, I'd figure Pac would take Berto out, but it would interesting to see Pac take a full power uppercut from Berto. Pac would win, but it would be more of a fight than Pac vs Clottey or Cotto. But I think Pac should face Bradley outta anyone else out there beside Floyd.

agree with that. Berto puts up better effort than both of those guys.......

it's not a secret, pac can be hit, but that's because he throws a lot of punches.

if berto trades with pac he gets beat up.

I think Berto power is somewhat overrated. I think Pac would be able to take his punches. But, I get what you saying.

And, I agree about Bradley. I give Bradley a very good chance in beating Pac. I even made a thread about it a few months ago. At 140 Bradley has a very good chance damn near great chance. From 140-147 I think Bradley, Floyd, and Shane are the only guys who can seriously beat Pac. And, also Paul Williams is a for sure bet if he can make 147.

I think Pac will beat Margarito. However, if Margarito has anything left I give him better chance then Berto or Alexander or Khan at 140.

If I were Pac, I'd fight Bradley at 147. If he's serious about fighting Floyd, it would be good prep to fight Bradley, and wouldn't be a good idea to fight at one whole weight class under Floyd.

But I disagree about the Marg part. I still can't get it outta my head that he was dominated every second of every round in the only fight we know he wasn't loaded. Style makes fights I know, but that wasn't stylistic advantage. Marg was utterly outclassed. Berto and Alexander would give Pac a better fight than Marg. Marg isn't on the level where he merits a Pac fight, not to mention that he shouldn't get it out of respect for ethics.

Didn't Berto beat Dirrell in the Ams as well? I think Berto has a lot of potential, and he can be a much better fighter than what he is.

Did i wake up in the twilight zone? Am i reading correctly here that Pac would be at a hand speed and power disadvantage against Andre Berto? Wow i've seen it all now. It's not even debatable that Pac has him beat in those categories. A shot Cotto hits harder than Berto and there is no way that Berto lasts as long as Cotto did against Pac. Pac would take him out in no longer than 5 rounds and i'm not even exaggerating. Berto has been dropped by waaay less competition. I would even venture to say a shot Cotto right now beats Berto. Berto is real easy to hit and he doesn't have a good chin, his power is good but not on the level of a Cotto, Mosley or Pac. I don't think people realized that despite Cotto losing in devastating fashion he did hit Manny with some real hard shots and theirs no way Berto hits as hard as Cotto shot or not. Berto is a major work in progress. His best bet is to fight Clottey right now and as bad as Clottey performed in his last fight i can seriously see Clottey winning that fight. Berto can be real good in the future but needs a lot of work right now.

I know that and he also beat Dirrell... Like you said it means nothing at all... As of right now Bradley is just a better fighter than Berto.

MANILA, Philippines – Haitian-American Andre Berto, a willing challenger to 7-division world champion Manny Pacquiao, said the pound-for-pound king still needs improvement in the defense department.

“I think that’s the thing with Manny Pacquiao that a lot of people really just don’t understand. Manny Pacquiao has a lot of energy, he has really great legs, but then again, you have to fight fire with fire,” Berto said in an exclusive interview with On The Ropes Boxing Radio as quoted by Geoffrey Ciani of The Mushroom Mag.

“He lacks defense. He’s easy to hit, but he sets a pace that’s a little too much for his opponents and he’s incredibly strong, also, so he always tend (sic) to outwork and outpunch his opponents,” he noted.

Berto defended his World Boxing Council (WBC) welterweight belt last April 12 with an 8th round technical knockout win over Carlos Quintana of Puerto Rico.

He went on to say that he and Pacquiao would have an entertaining fight because he has the power and hand speed to match the Filipino boxing icon.

“If I get in the position I know it will be an entertaining fight because I know I’ll be able to touch him whenever I wanted to touch him and get in there with some power and I think it will be able to stop a lot of that jumping around and stuff,” he stated.

He even assured that he would put up a good fight against Pacquiao unlike what Ghanaian Joshua Clottey did last March 13 at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Pacquiao retained his World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title via unanimous decision in the lopsided bout.

“Unlike with Joshua Clottey and a lot of people, I would definitely let my hands go… and as the action gets turned up I get turned up,” remarked Berto.

A boxing analyst earlier said that Pacquiao vs Berto is the most sensible fight because it would unify the WBC and WBO welterweight titles.

The 31-year-old Pacquiao has 51 wins (38 knockouts), 3 losses and 2 draws while the 26-year-old Berto has a record of 26-0 (with 20 KOs).

                    Future Hall of Famers

Berto was supposed to fight American Shane Mosley in January but he pulled out of the bout after he lost some family members in the devastating Haiti earthquake.

Mosley then chose to take on compatriot Floyd Mayweather, Jr. on May 1 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

When asked to choose between Mosley or Mayweather on whom he would like to fight, Berto said: “Oh man, it doesn’t matter, either one of them. I mean Floyd Mayweather, Shane Mosley, or (Manny) Pacquiao, you know it would just be an honor to be in the ring with those guys.”

The Haitian-American regarded them as his idols and future Hall of Famers.

“I grew up at the gym watching these guys and mimicking a lot of these guys, so I’d be honored just to be in the same ring with them so it doesn’t matter at all,” he added.

                    Mayweather-Mosley picks

Berto, meantime, shared his fight prediction for the “Who R U Picking?” main event.

“Realistically, I think Floyd is going to outpoint him. I see that at the beginning of the fight, Shane Mosley is going to be there and he’s going to impose his will, he’s going to impose his strength and the speed, but I think after a couple of rounds Floyd will pretty much figure him out once Shane slows down a little,” he said.

Pacquiao’s sparring mate, Shawn Porter of the US, meantime, went with Mosley.

“You can't count Mayweather out but I think Mosley will pull out the win,” he told Ryan Burton of BoxingScene.com.

Porter scored a 1st round KO victory over Colombian Raul Pinzon Friday (Saturday in Manila) in Maryland.

Just like Porter, Pacquiao earlier picked Mosley to prevail over Mayweather

Berto is right on his statement but he forgot about his own defense when CQ land some power shot in his face..... if only CQ has the power to KO Berto, that happens in the middle of the fight coz berto eats some left straight from the lefty CQ.

Well if Pac is the one to connect that kind of shot, **** another RH fal like a log to see....
