I wouldn't be surprised if we saw the same old Margarito. All he did before was out last his opponent with an iron chin and a variety of slow punches. Hard to see him losing that.

We won't know till he fights again....but smart money says he will never be the same. In the last few years he had a wars with Williams, Cotto (he took alot of clean punches from Cotto) and Shane really did a number on him. That kind of wear and tear takes a toll on any man. Couple that with inactivity and i think he is done as an "elite" WW.
Martinez will push hard for a Margo rematch if he gets past Kelly. If i was Marg i would turn it down.....Martinez will whip him this time around.Comment

idk if floyd took all that much out of hatton, obviously anytime someone gets a beating like that it takes something out of them but hatton imo wasnt that good to begin with. cotto was clearly ruined and margarito, well we will just have to wait and see. i dont think margarito was all that good to begin with eighter, cotto fought a ******ed fight. had he not gotten big headed and forgot what brought him to the top he wouldve beaten margarito imo. the loss to mosley took something out of margarito (no way a beating like that couldnt) we will just have to see how much.Comment

people use "shot" interchangably with "has apexed"
all of those guys have hit their apex in talent and didn't become #1, none of them are "shot" or have had their "chin cracked" etc -- finding your limits and being damaged goods arent the same

cant call margarito shot on the basis of one fight. His head probably wasnt in it since he'd just been caught cheating, so it wouldnt have been his best performance anyway, and who knows if his hands were loaded for cotto and previous fights? got to wait for his next few fights to have any idea, but it will take a lot for a top level fighter to be interested in him after the cheating, inactivity and the fact that he was soundly beaten in his last fight.
I do think cotto is done as a top level fighter, hes tried 3 times (including mosely, where i think he was soundly beaten) to make the jump to elite level and failed each time. Hes still a great fighter, and hes a tough nights work for anyone, i just dont think he'll ever be 'great'. He'll never live up to his promise of being a threat to floyd, he'll never be an undisputed champion at any weight.
As for Hatton. . .i think hes damaged beyond repair, and i think he knows it. I dont know whether it was the pac loss or the years of abuse hes given himself, but somethings not right, and his indecision over his retirement leads me to beleive that hes well aware theres a problem. I doubt he'll box again.Comment
