Correction,Pacquiao is faster then when he was in the lower weight classes.

No he wasn't. Look at the first Barrera fight. Look at his fight with Lucero at 122. Any of the Morales's fights. He was lighter and quicker. The difference is marginal though dude. He's always been quick.

hit anyone on a sweet spot and it will hurt big time, thats the secret behind pacs ko rate, he has fantastic power punching accuracy. also he has slowed down but is still the uickest welter, he used to much quicker at 130 and less.
Pacquiao was not faster in the lower weight classses.

This thread begins on teh false premise that Pac wasn't KO'ing people at the lower weights. He was stopping all but ATG fighters.

Since he moved up from flyweight in 99 he has only failed to stop 4 fighters, of them JMM, Barrera and MAB have legendary chins and Larios was down twice in teh fight.

He also didn't KO ODLH, he quit.

              Bigger slower opponents?

              Technique?

              Not just throwing straight lefts?

Not to mention that somebody takes a step-function increase in performance late his career.

                A Barry Bonds-esque step function.

Pacquiao was unable to hurt Oscar Larios (a 122er) at 130. One fight afrer Izzy knocked Larios unconscious in a single round.

Then he moves up three divisions and is starching Cotto?

                  ...not su****ious at all. Sure.

Also, Vinny Pazienza's 168 pound body was completely natural.

                    yeah right...

pac's speed really was in the lower weight classes. i very much believe that was a raw-pac.

now, after he got a beating from morales, you will clearly see how he changed. in their second outing with morales, you can now see left and right combos for the head and the body.

pac was fighting only with a left hand all his career.. thanks to morales, he's been a better fighter now.

or the best fighter now... but *****s won't accept that fact.

Before we even throw the whole steroids thing into the conversation....just examine his technique.

At the lower weights Pacquiao had the same kind of workrate but used the right hand as nothing more than a measuring stick for the hammer left.

Now he has better overall technique and footwork so he's able to hurt you with both hands and able to take his time breaking down opponents with that confidence as opposed to the sense of urgency for the knockout he always had at the lower weights.
