    Reasons why ppl hate him?
    1. There's ALWAYS haters (see *****s/*******s)
    2. He does tend to hold and turn his head as to hope the ref calls rabbit punch.

    Reasons why I like him?

    1. He's fast
    2. He's strong
    3. He aint afraid to throw

For me, the reasons to like him outweight the reasons to not.

Haters gonna hate, but they'll nuthug a limited fighter till the death though. For some, especially if their a Top Rank fighter. But a few haters on the internet won't stop his career. All Berto can really do is keep fighting guys like Quintana, Collazo, Cotto, and eventually Mosley, and beat them.

Truthfully I like him as a fighter. I like his explosiveness, and athletic ability, but he's not on the top 3's level. Which is why I don't see the warranted hate.

What pisses me off, is a few years down the road, if he does pan out to be that good some of these haterz will be hanging off his balls so tight a Universal Collision wouldn't knock them off.

This is exactly right, for me its because he really hasn't gotten any better, at all. Which makes me believe he is what he is...which sad to say may not be anything.

          But I hope I'm wrong

that's great. you like him. not everybody has to like the same fighters you like.
              get over it.
id figure that if you actually read the berto "hate" threads after his fight this weekend that you'd understand why people dont like him.

I dont like Berto. But I dont hate him either. I think he is willing to take risk. He has the tools the fight in the elite. He just need to improve his skill which I dont see much.

The only fight I've ever seen is last weekends, and I became a fan. I'm not saying he's top 3 or anything but he's fun to watch and I think there is a little too much hate, but then again I'm sure if I was on these forums back during the early 2000's I'm sure Gatti had plenty of hate. Doesn't matter to me if he's not the best. Like it's been said he's fast and ain't afraid to throw which makes for an entertaining fight, and I'd rather watch an exciting fight than Mayweather potshot his way to a UD.

I wouldn't say he's hated but the thing is he gets all these HBO dates an he's really never faced an elite level guy yet. Plus his style is BORING as all hell. WHat makes me mad is we see berto vs Nito Bravo,Miki Rodriguez an smaller fighters in Urango while cats like Antwoine Smith an Mike Jones can't get a date an will probably have to face each other just to get the payday.

Man your screwed up homie, I would have looked down on him had he went on with the fight for 1.5 million dollars and he has 8 dead relatives. Shane even called him and told him he should do what's best for his family.
