I would agree with you sans one point, Shane sometimes throws out his game plan and becomes instinctive, which has never served him well. I can't see him sitting back and winning a contest of who lands first with May being a very good counter puncher, he needs to get inside use his skill-set to set up something big. I just can't envision him winning on points, perhaps you may end up being right who knows.

One thing that few fighters do against Floyd is use good feints or set him up for punches. I know everyone hated the Marquez fight but there were a couple of times when Marquez caught Floyd flush with right hands along the ropes. In the second round is a perfect example of when Marquez feinted with his left, Floyd was sold on it and pushed up his own right hand along the side of his face to block the incoming jab/or left hook from Marquez; only Marquez didn't throw the left he instead fired a right hand straight down the pipe into Floyd's exposed face. After that Floyd smiled, probably not so much that it hurt but because Marquez effectively set him up for the punch.
In the end, Floyd is a fox inside that ring and he has to be out-foxed in order to lose, but I truly don't think that Mosley is capable of doing that at all.Comment

not only does shane "lack" a jab as a weapon, he's vulnerable to one.
i rewatched the margarito fight, and when margarito threw his jab, he hit shane at will. the problem was, margarito never followed up his jab with anything in return....Comment

God I hope it's not a feint contest, more feints than exchanges, but you have to use feints on Floyd, he limits so much of what you can do, that anything you can use to get him to bite or open up, you have to employ.Comment

Yea me neither because that would be horrible to watch, but Mosley is going to have to pull out all the tricks in order to beat Floyd. When Floyd throws his own jab Mosley has to be ready to throw his right hand over it; Mosley is going to have to throw the hook off the jab; and throw sharp jabs to the body with a right hand upstairs immediately after; use some feints to keep Floyd on his toes; try to anticipate when/if Floyd is going to punch and close the gap between them. He just has to keep Floyd guessing just as much as Floyd keeps his opponents guessing which prevents them from focusing on their game plan. But like I said before, I see Mosley losing focus and getting frustrated at how much he is going to miss Floyd with his punches.Comment

Zab was a fast AND a lefty. That's what gave PBF issues before he took over the fight. I like Shane but he throws too wide for me to see him winning. He had too much trouble with Myorga who got blasted by Tito and Oscar who were facing a better version of Myorga. Only guy who I think can beat PBF is Pac because he is a fast lefty with power and could possibly get the KO before PBF times him. If PBF makes it past 5 then Pac loses a Dec.Comment

Yes. Shane Mosley is the only man I know of who scored a legit KO with his jab. Shane Mosleys jab IS phenomenal when he uses it.This "no jab" thing is so overblown. And false. Shane Mosley beat Oscar De La Hoya the first time with his jab. Just because he doesn't use it in a conventional manner doesn't mean he doesn't throw one. Yes, he fires four or five pawing jabs in a row but he always mixes a stiff, hard one somewhere in between. And that can really throw an opponent off. Then trying to figure out when he's throwing the right behind it; or maybe feints the jab and fires that quick lead left hook. Man, Shane Mosley is not a game in the ring.Comment

Thing is most of the time he throws the jab its lazy and uninspired. Floyd will see his jab coming a mile a way and make him pay. Hell Cotto was timing Shanes jab.Comment
