Shane doesn't have the height or a stiff enough jab to attack Floyd and back him up and throw off his timing the only chance he has is to make it a rough n tough physical fight for 12 rounds Hatton tried to rough him up but ran out of gas and failed

One advantage Floyd has and it's overlooked, is that he doesn't know what it feels like to lose, when you've never been defeated or knocked out, losing doesn't enter your mind and you react instinctively which is what makes him great, like a young Roy Jones however, I bet the house that if Floyd ever catches an L, it will do a number on his psyche. The man covets that "O", more than he covets competing at welterweight.
dont buy into all this stuff

I agree with you about the psyche, but I also think Floyd will never ever admit defeat unless he's knocked out cold.. which doesn't seem to be a very likely senerio IMO. So, if his loss is due to a decision I just don't ever see him conceeding defeat. Do you remember seeing his face when they were reading the split decision score against ODH? Also, it seems like judges don't like to take away a "0" record for an established fighter, so it's my guess that it will be tough for anyone to defeat FMJ by decision unless it is in a very, very decisive manner.
I agree with you in many ways, but I think it goes deeper than that for Floyd, his self-worth seems to based upon having never lost a fight, he consistently states in interviews "everyone had a plan and all of them came up empty". I think once or if he ever loses, he will be vulnerable emotionally which will affect him mentally. His entire being is made up of keeping that "O" intact, which is why he seems less concerned with challenging his talent and favors giving himself advantages to keep that "O" just where it is.

The key isn't the direct impact of the jab, the key is using the jab to disrupt the shoulder roll, with the hope being that May makes a mistake coming out of it, which is rare.Last edited by switchsouthpaw; 04-13-2010, 12:24 PM.

i understand your point, but i think too much is being based on someone needing a lazer jab like forrest had, god bless him.
i see an active efficiently pressure from shane winning rounds early with shane stepping back away from floyds single pot shots to win rounds.
once floyd is down he will have to fight a bit, then shane mixes in power shots, the next round he will be back to flurry and move to score points.
you guys are all gonna be surprised when shane sits back as much as he is going to.
activity and conserving energy is what will win this fight for shane.
naz has him realizing he cant out athlete everyone and at this stage must use a gameplan
