So in essence you are saying that Floyd retired(prolonged vacation) after just 3 fights at WW and not only are you saying that but you are also saying that Floyd minus the 21 month lay-off only has a total accumulation of 13 months of WW experience. Not to mention the fact that he ventured into JMW for one fight.
Sooooooo by your logic we have a Boxer who became lineal champ at 147, went up to 154 to snag a belt and then came back down to 147 to defend his lineal championship crown and ended that fight by TKO. Sounds like we have a Boxer on the cusp of being a legitimate ATG by looking at the post you made that this post is in response to.
Look at the context of my prior posts and the one you're responding to. I specifically said "welterweight", not against a natural 140lbs who went life and death with Collazo, or a part time promoter who fought once a year and wasn't living the life of an active fighter, in context you could clearly see what I meant by my statements.Last edited by switchsouthpaw; 04-13-2010, 07:14 PM.

If you know about boxing usually a fighter focuses on regaining his timing and not his fighting weight when he comes back. You wanna get rounds in and gradually work your way back to your best fighting condition. So Floyd was not 100% against Marquez. If you saw his recent interview he was saying he was glad he got in the rounds against Marquez to work off the ring rust. Once he's totally back in peak form I think he could easily get to 140 if he had to.Last edited by Sugar Q; 04-13-2010, 06:19 PM.

Of course he can if he had to. I label anyone that can't admire the fact that in his 2nd fight back he's fighting a guy the so called P4P guy wanted absolutely no part of. Why not move past all the criticism and give props to the man for doing what he's doing.

I have been in and around boxing gyms, watching fighters train, watching trainers ply their trade and sparring myself for over 15 years. Have I attended live events for over 20 years? Yes. Now I cover them live ringside as a member of the press for online boxing publications. Stop assuming so much, simply because a grown man has his nuts in your mouth.
