The reasons are quite simple why a European fighter MUST come to America to be recognized.

        1. If a band only tours in Europe, how can the American audience know about them?

        2. The difference in quality of opposition. In Europe, you can fight nobodies all your career and the fans will love you to death. In America, you will be vilified for such disgusting filth. Here are 2 examples:
        2a. Danny Williams:
Best opponents in Europe; Michael Sprott, Kali Meehan.
Best opponents in America; Mike Tyson, Vitali Klitschko
        2b. Felix Sturm:
        BOIE: Hacine Cherifi, Robert Frazier
        BOIA: Oscar De La Hoya

        3. There has been a long history of bad hometown decisions, criminal refereeing, and other nonsense that has become commonplace in Europe. Case in point, the horrendous judging that awarded Alan Minter a draw against Marvelous Marvin Hagler. And how about the nefarious refereeing in the Ottke-Reid fight. While Las Vegas is by no means void of this sort of behavior, it is most prevelant and more outrageously practiced in Europe, where hometowns tend to god up otherwise average fighters.

Alan minter never drew with hagler asian it was Vito in their first fight, Then minter took the title, then hagler cut him up and battered him in 3.
And talking about the Reid fight, that was truly, truly shocking.
Fact is there are bad refs, corrupt judges and **** decisions all over the world and being a brit i notice some brit ones but mostly germany first then the us ones, i suppose it matters where your from

What amazes me more is that people can't even see why. Look at the last time an unprecedented European came over for a match with a US (okay, Mexican...) superstar. Felix Sturm got the rough end of Vegas that night. You really expect an underregarded Hatton - a man the US trade papers were giving a "over in less than three rounds" prediction against - would risk that kind of judging?

Saturday night/Sunday morning, and Ricky's an overnight star. Now it's not a case of him wanting big fights and being blown out at the last minute by the likes of Vivian Harris. Now HBO want HIM. Now he can come over as a genuine contender and a robbery against him will be judged accordingly.

Now Ricky can come and see you in the U.S.
Thats a double standard..to expect KT to fight in rickys backyard..among more than 20,000 hostile fans (they even booed his countrys song , which was in poor taste) but little ole Ricky shouldnt come here to fight among fans that would be split in their pick?? There are (probably more like "were") plenty of fans here that liked Hatton, while none of them like KT over there. and to talk about fair judging?!?! You've gotta be kidding me! there wasnt even fair reffing, so it's a no brainer how the judging would have went had KT continued.

Everything! Too much for anyone to have missed! But, the worse offense I suppose was when he spun KT around in a circle and then hit him behind the head repeatedly. He should have been dq'ed right then. But oh no, not in england!

I've seen Harris fight on a number of occasions and I thought he lost the 1st fight with Urkal.

                  He's there for the taking...
Harris might be, but after Pretty Boy destroys Gatti, we're gonna have a new 140 dominator. Floyd will NOT lose to Hatton, or anyone else.

You can dq someone that easily, it was a bit naughty but thats it. Did you really want Tszyu to win that much??

I think it's more to do with the money aspect tre, and this is not about who i like more (i've been bigger fans of both cotto and mayweather for alot longer than hattons).
We will have to agree to disagree on the views of the fight.
For me it boils down to money, now for example Hatton defends against a quality top 5 name, eg cotto, harris, gatti or PBF.
The only fighter who can draw is Gatti.
Does he defend stateside against any of the non draws and get maybe 10,000 or in the uk and fill 50,000 and they both make a ****load more money.
If Any of those fighters (apart from maybe Harris) signed to fight Hatton in the UK that would fill an outdoor football stadium a piece o piss, and even Harris would still do 20,000 cos he brings a belt.
I do agree that Hatton should fight some big fights in the US.
The travelling fighter gets more money - everybodys happy.
I can't really see why it can't be alternated as long as all parties are happy.
You would get people like me who would go to see both fighters and not just one so the seats would fill like they were giving away a free cup o tea and a slice o cake!!!!
