Naturally bigger guys who can take his punches, but pack the power the hurt him.

Most fighters do walk around heavier that is true, but thats because they are overweight: Hatton, Toney etc.

Do you consider Hopkins win over Roy, legit?
nah man not at all really spec watchen Jones Jr ..now during training i thought Jones looked decent cept he carried his hands low like always he should of fixed that he's prob not as quick anymore...obviously lol..but lets look at J Taylor..NOW would you consider him a good fighter? prob not but mayb...however when he fought Hop he was labeled an up and coming gr8. Taylor gets blasted anymore all will claim well hell Hop also lost to a no good Taylor..but thats not a fair statement at all...i agree the weight moving has pluses and minuses behind it..it really depends on the fighter some struggle more to make weight in their division and therefore when they do move up they are more successfull...like i said i get your point fully and their is truth for the most part...i just dont like the argument of weight class moving being the culprit to a loss when the fighter chose to fight at that weight

      Calzaghe 0 draws
      Hopkins draw against Mercado

      Calzaghe 0 losses
Hopkins has lost to most of th best fighters he has ever faced:
Jones, Taylor I, Taylor II, Calzaghe, Mitchell

      Calzaghe resume-Hopkins=resume
In my opinion thats a great breakdown.

Notice how 4 out of the 7 of those wins are guys coming up in weight also, Winky/Oscar/Tito also happen to be the biggest names on the resume. Tarver/Johnson are both good fighters but not exceptional, Joppy is a decent fighter at best. Hopkins resume really isn't that great, i hate his antics and i hate his annoying fans who champion him as some fantastic atg and also over Jones and Calzaghe.

Actually, aside from HBO, the consensus was that Taylor was far too green to beat Hops.

He's hilarious outside the ring and I love the **** he comes out with, but otherwise I can't stand his spoiling style of 'fighting' (if it can even be called fighting).

Roy has been finished since Tarver II, any win over him after that doesnt mean anything. Calzaghe should of been ashamed of himself for chasing a Jones fight, but at least then jones was on a winning streak. Hopkins chased a Jones fight after Jones had been koed within 60 seconds.

Taylor was a great athlete, but he never learnt his fundamentals. Also after he won a belt his desire to stay at the top waned as well.

The fighters who are succesfull at moving up either, have a high skill set: Duran, Toney, Jones, Mayweather or have the physique which can carry the extra mass well: Hearns, Williams, Holyfield etc

I can't really place Oscar or Tito in either group, but you are right, sometimes you cannot always put down losing to a fighter being out of their weight class. Hatton-Mayweather comes to mind

no one points out tho how Hopkins was successfull goin up in weight tho people argue he beat small fighters but what about the big ones he moved up in weight to take down..gotta include both now

The general consensus was right as well. No way was he ready. He should of fought his WBC mandatory Winky Wright instead.
