I wanted Jones to win last Saturday, but things have still worked out for the best. Hopkins is finished, he wont get anymore fights after that shocking performance.

what gets me is whenever a hopkins fan defends him they have to go sooooo far to like find a loop hole or something. they cant just simply defend him they go into this complicated elaborate explanation about well thats what you gotta do to get the win blah blah blah.

or they say well its the refs job to catch all these fouls if the ref doesnt catch it then it didnt happen.

so they basically block all the ****tty disgraceful things hopkins does in order to justify him or defend him?

lol i must admit i've defended him this way a time or two lol..but on the real if you look past the fouling and evil ways..the man is a genious...look at his feet positions most of all look at his chin..i swear i've never seen a more perfect tuck..and the way he makes one miss...most punches look like they got him but in slow mow he made them miss by inches only to get off a gr8 counter...his tactics of course nowadays outshine his skill but sides from that he is one smart cookie

I've been a hopkins fan forever though, people forget (or never saw) how he fought in his prime, much more exciting and more offensive minded. A LOT of people on here only seen him post 40, who fights much differently before because of his physical limitations.

I can understand why people hate hopkins (big ego, talks a lot of ****, can be a drama queen at times, etc.) but I can't stand when people don't recognize his skills, his extreme dedication & discipline and what he's accomplished in boxing. He truly is an all time great and that cannot be debated.

Hopkins has the best counter cross in the business. Hopkins does cheat a good bit in the ring, but I think it's better to cheat headbutting and lowblowing than doing steroids like so many other guys. You have to kinda admire how Hopkins cheats because he does it perfectly, when the ref isn't in view...he'll turn his man and then get in his foul, it's really entertaining actually....It's just how an old man handles business in the ring, man. Plus, Taylor was changed forever after Hopkins stole him in their first fight in round nine or ten whichever it was with that counter cross. Lemme repeat that,

Hopkins make a prime Jermain Taylor, who was a gold medalist olympian, Camacho style with one counter right cross. After the first Hopkins fight, Taylor was Camacho'd. He was never super aggressive after that, and never jumped in with his jab like he used to. He was a flawed fighter and a shell of himself after that single punch.

What has Tito ever achieved at MW? His best win is over Joppy. Joppy's best win is a shot Duran, which should tell you something about his level of opposition.

Tito at mw: 3-2, hardly the record of a great mw fighter, both of those losses were complete shutouts as well. He was a B class mw at best.

So according to your logic, no jr.welterweight or welterweight would've gotten credit for stopping Mayweather's unbeaten streak while he was moving up in weight?

Meaning no natural-division fighter ever gets credit for beating a great fighter who is movng up in weight to become a multi-division champ? Sounds like idiotic logic to me.


Bottom line is, Hopkins has beaten plenty of prime, natural middleweights who were pretty good and solid 160 contenders. It's just that he made his name and fame when he finally beat a smaller great fighter moving up in Trinidad, nothing wrong with that as most expected Trinidad to blast him.

Trying to **** on Hopkins's resume with your selective- put-a-negative-spin to every great win he's had is pathetic.
