He was hurt man. Just look it up even Castillo said he knew something had to be wrong with Floyd. People grasp at every thing. He was injured and it showed. He didnt fight Castillo again until 8 months later. Castillo even fought in between that time. He was injured bro.

You know - I'm beginning to think perhaps you aren't quite understanding what I'm saying. When I say an elite fighter, I'm not referring to pound for pound. I'm talking at a specific weight. Kelly Pavlik - the undefeated, undisputed champ - is an elite middleweight. He is an A-Class middleweight. Super middle? Not so much. But middle? Yessir.

With that in mind, there is no question that Castillo, who beat far more top fighters than a Pavlik or a Hatton, was an A-class lightweight.

As much as I used to rave about Shane, my dad said the same thing in the bold.

Your dad was right. Shane was never a one-punch KO artist at the weight. See his fights against Leija or anyone else at 135. He did it on accumulation of punches.

It's kind of interesting to see how Shane's LW reign has been elevated. He never fought the best in the division (Bazan, etc) - actually, he fought some pretty bad fighters. But because he leaped to 147 and did what he did, his reign at LW has been looked upon as some incredible feat; as if he was untouchable then. We really don't know - although he sure looked the goods.

I thought Floyd would have had no trouble with Castillo and an aged DLH, but the fights were a lot more competitive than i expected. Some say Castillo won. I dont, but still...


You gotta favour Floyd, but Marquez is a live opponent for a warm up imo. It will look good on Floyd's resume as far as im concerned. If Floyd beats Marquez THEN goes on to beat Pac. I will seriously start thinking about giving the dude some props.
