Fighters don't lose punching power by going up in weight.

It is obvious to any observant person, that Hatton knocked himself out by rushing headfirst into the ringpost. If it hadn't been padded, he might have fractured neck vertebrae.
As it was, you could see the way he rebounded from the post . it was a terrific crash.
Of course Mayweather's punch helped, but it alone would not have been able to render Hatton unconscious, and it is futile for Mayweatherites to suggest it would.
As for the question of whether a fighter can carry his punch up in weight, the many arguments I've read sem to me to be incorrect to a large degree, since the main factors which govern the ability of a fighter to unload a KO punch, have not been addressed, and have more to do with physics and delivery than anything else.
i don't want to get into it.
Hatton was not unconscious. I guess you're too ****** to realize that or still hurting because Hatton lost the fight. The ring post excuse is pathetic. The funny thing is I've never even heard Hatton use that as an excuse.Comment

Floyd IMO punches with his arms more than with his whole body (shoulders, legs, core) .... plus he is somewhat tall so he punches slightly downward or straight hitting the whole face...Floyd is more powerful at 147 than 130.
His speed is what caused the guys at the lower weights to get hurt.
At 147 he clearly hasn't been as attacking. He is msot likely stronger, but with his stlye and the fact that most people at 147 can take hits, he didn't get the KO's.
Remember that Floyd not only has to hit much more harder to KO someone at 147 than at 130, his style has also become mroe defensive since he is fighting bigger guys.
Pacquiao is shorter and he punches from his legs, core, shoulders, and his arms follow through...kind of like the perfect jumpshot...AND since he is shorter his punches come up resulting in some awesome hooks...AND the way Manny trains is more focused on the opponents chin...the sweet spot...and that is the secret..you can ko someone even with a punch not t full power... just as long as it is on the chin is flanked ...game overComment
