Actually I think Floyd has all his power. He just fights more carefully now than he used to. He rattled Oscar a few times and we all know what Oscar's chin is like.
Fighters don't lose punching power by going up in weight.

Exactly. He just became more defensive now. Plus he had good power at 130 he never was he a monster puncher in the 1st place.Comment

True but in terms of effectiveness Speed and Technique are the main ones...You can have all the strength you want, but if you dont have the right technique or speed you wont be KO'ing or knocking down fighter that easily or that early. You wont be as effective...
Technique is something which doesn't just disappear out of the blue once you have learnt it, however speed does decrease once you move up in weight. If your best weight is 130/135 you wont be KO'ing guys the same way at 147 the way you did at 130 because of the speed difference whilst applying the technique (fast, accurate, counter punching,etc.).
Floyd didn't have power in terms of Strength or fist size but more because his quickness/explosiveness and technique, he was very fast at 130, and the punches you dont see coming hurt the most usually. He still has the technique, however he has slightly made *********s in his technique since he has moved up and potshots more. The 130 lbs floyd let his hands go more often, threw combinations, had a better workrate with crazy speed and technique, if floyd used the same technique he did at 147 lbs, his power would show, however floyd is more defensive now and just outpoints fighters.
Moving up in weight he has lost 20-30% of his speed,Comment

yeah floyd lost power because he had to MOVE up. Stop comparing Pac to May Burner. Pac was in the 144 range for his fight with Diaz at lighweight, whereas Floyd was at around 138 (fightnight weight) at lightweight. Pac didnt put on much weight he just stopped cutting weight, whereas Floyd actually had to gain mass, or weight to move up weight. i dont get how people can compare them moving up in weight.Comment

a lot of guys who have power don't really have speed. a lot who have speed don't have power. it all depends.
i don't think may lost that much speed moving up.
maybe now he's slower because of the layoff , getting older , etc.
floyd when he first moved to 147 was still fast as hell.
he just showed it off more at 130 because he threw more punches and combinations.
at 147 , guys come in 15 lbs. bigger than him so he has to be more careful and not throw so much that could leave an opening.Comment
was that for me?
