prime morales could have lost to zahir raheem.

it's a bad style matchup and zahir is a naturally bigger man.

it was erik's 1st fight at 135. zahir was a top 10 level lightweight.
morales was shot vs raheem. no brainer imo.

why do you think hagler was looking for a ray fight for the longest time.
I agree it is a business, but all these small fighters that came up to fight continue going up in weight and fighting also winning titles along the way.

The thing about Hagler is that there are some who feel he never lost a fight. His first two losses were questionable decisions in philadelphia against watts and monroe. I can tell you I don't think he lost those fights. The SRL fight i do think he lost by one point. I had it 6-5-1 115-114 for SRL. It's important to remember that he beat solid contenders as Hart and Briscoe. In addition, he was ducked by guys like Corro and Valdez who wanted no part of him. He probably could have been the Middleweight champ in 1977 or 1978. The draw with Antefuermo was disputed. As far as him beating midgets only? i guess they haven't seen his fights. Plenty of guys were much bigger than hagler that he beat as Geraldo, Minter, Hearns, and hard hitting Obeljimas twice. Hagler never was knocked out and his only Knockdown was a half slip-half punch in the Roldan fight.

I do have Pac slightly higher on my P4P list. Pac started at 106 and became champion at WW a very rare breed in boxing. Unless you go back to the days of guys like Ketchel and Wilde.

                ehhh......

                i don't think so.

zahir is the kind of guy that could have given anyone trouble depending on the styles.

morales was no longer his best but i doubt he was shot.

                hard to say.

it's not like we have a prime morales at 135 to compare his performance with.

sometimes that 4 or 5 extra lbs. division jump is too much.

not everyone is pacquiao or armstrong or duran.

In all those fights Pac was moving up.
Morales was definitely shot. I also don't believe that moving up in weight is the end all and be all when it comes to greatness. There are other factors. I personally believe it's much tougher to stay in one division and dominate the best fighters in that one division. Tougher than it is to move up and fight David Diaz or a shot Oscar Delahoya. The Hatton fight was a good win but I'm not sure if that would have been Pacquiao's toughest fight at 140. There was also unfinished business at 130 for Pacquaio with possible fights against Valero and Guzman. Cotto is damaged goods and even Freddie Roach said that before the fight. Not to mention making him weigh noi more than 145 for his title. Hagler left no stone unturned and fought everybody that mattered in his division. That's more impressive to me.

What Manny Pacquiao has done is unbelievable.Nobody would of imagine what he has accomplished the last two years when he jumped up in weight a few times and just toy around with these guys.(Champion in 7 different weight classes).
As great as Hagler was, Pac is in a leaugue of his own.

good for them if they try to win all these titles in different divisions.

                      great achievements.

staying in one division and beating all challengers for a long period of time is just as great though.
