Hagler by a country mile, resume is everything.

Pac has never beaten a top 50 ATG, Hagler has wins against two top 20 ATG and it should be three.

Of course for the last nearly 3 of those years he had not fought, but it is noteworthy that Leonard had about a half dozen fights after Hagler, not one of which was under the middleweight limit, but even higher.

As for Hearns, he was 4 inches taller than Hagler, at 6'1" and had been fighting as a middleweight for 4 years before he fought Hagler. He was a full Middleweight, and, in fact had a fight at Lt. heavy, winning the WBC title. He ended up at cruiserweight, having had about a dozen fights at that weight.

So Hagler cannot actually be accused of fighting lighter weight fighters. They were all at least his match in height, weight, and even talent. he just beat them through sheer grit and determination, added to considerable skill, and bravery.
Leonard had never fought as a middleweight before fighting Hagler. So how was he a "full fledged middeweight?" In his previous fight with Kevin Howard he weighed 149. That's only 2 pounds over the welterweight limit. No where near a middleweight and 3 years before Hagler. First it was "the ring post KO'd Hatton" and now this. You sure like to twist facts.

leonard and hearns are huge welterweights.

that's how they were still able to win titles at 160-175.

hell hearns was campaigning at cruiser at the end of his career.
            Leonard wasn't a huge welterweight.
I think ive been dragged into flaming. Not usually my style.
Duran beating Moore was a joke. Only reason it was a good win for him is becuase he was thought to be shot.

Leonard had 1 fight in 5 years.

Pac moving up to KO WW's is freaky.

The fact that he is now a WW is freaky.

              Good day to u gentlemen.
Keep throwing out lies to support your argument and you can expect to get flamed whether "it's your style" or not. First you said Leonard had NO fights in 5 years. And Davy Moore was a solid fighter. He was "no joke". Good day to you too, sir.

for those claiming Hagler never ducked anybody, he vacated his wba middleweight title to avoid his mandatory challenger in Herol "bomber" Graham.

I would bet all the money in the world that all these posters proclaiming Hagler's greatness have seen just a handful of his fights.

Hearns originally had trouble bulking up when he moved up from welterweight so I wouldn't call him a natural middleweight at the time Hagler beat him either.

Fair play to Hagler, he had a legendary career at 160 however the real challenges for him were up in weight and he never moved. Had he moved up, my guess is he would have been absolutely crushed by those guys.

I think moving up so many weights counts for an awful lot.
                  THIS.

hagler is the better fighter but pac has the better resume.

just shaking my head at the knee jerk analysis of marvin hagler's greatness:

"he knocked out hearns" no way pacquiao can come close to that greatness. they all have racist tunnel vision.

no way some asian guy gonna overtake marvelous. no way!!!

                    case closed.

he lost to a returning from retirement ray leonard coming up in weight to his best weight & his most other notable win was vs a past his prime & past his best weight fat roberto duran.

Hagler's career sort of reminds me of joe calzaghe. calzaghe could have gone up at 175 to face prime roy or gone down to face prime bernard but instead he stays at 168 & weights for fighters to come to him.

hagler could have gone up to 175 & taken on a great 175lb class or NOT RETIRE when mike mccallum, julian jackson, milton mccrory, donald curry, & gerald mcclellan were there for him to fight.

                    THAT COUNTS AGAINST HAGLER.

The fact that you actually mention Manny Pacquaio's name in the same sentence as Marvin Hagler tells me that you have probably been smoking/injecting/swallowing/rubbing the same drugs as Manny Pacquaio.
