Pride was huge in Japan but MMA has died over there as for Boxing they just had probably the biggest fight in history with Kameda/Naito which got I think 50% of Japan tuning in for the fight. MMA UFC mostly has gotten a nice following with young white males in the US but that's only been going on for about 5 years, we don't really know if it has longevity.

Boxing is garanteed to be around forever but you can't say the same for MMA, young people usually tend to get bored with something and move on just it's happend with skateboarding and poker in the last few years. Nobody can say that MMA will be here in 10 as it's about $130 a month to join a gym monthly while boxing still have a lot of free gyms especially around the world.

Another thing I would say boxing is doing much better right now then lets say 3 years ago, It's attracting a much younger audience with Manny and Mayweather. People used to say that Boxing only had one star with DLH but guess what? Now we have two huge stars with Pac and Mayweather.

    quoted for truth....

Nick Diaz is a *****, he should not even be mentioned on a boxing forum... Get off of his nuts
It was more than 10 years ago that Silva lost. He's only improved. And because I mentioned Nick Diaz once I'm on his nuts?

It doesn't have to be good nowadays, it has to be great. Great striking, wrestling, jujitsu. Yeah, that's only it. Like I said, Griffin became champ years ago due to a robbery.

MOST UFC fans are Pro wrestling fans who jumped on the fad. Most are ******ed trailer trash who don't know **** about fighting.
                    Way to stereotype.

If MMA is dead in Japan, then how come they can still pull in crowds of 20,000 at MMA events?
