Regardless, we all know beating pavlik is better than anything roy jones has done in a long time. In fact, it was one of the greatest 'over 40' performances by any athlete, period.
    170 isn't lightheavyweight?

    You're ****ting me.

Irregardless... It's a good win.. I have never stated otherwise. Just don't OVERRATE the win.

He beat the Middleweight champ at LHW.. 10 pounds over his best weight.

    It IS... what is IS.

Pavlik did not move up four pounds from 166. Why would you say that??

And maybe we should wait a few years before judging the Pavlik win?

reed, you know as well as I that 10 pounds didn't win the fight, the weight had nothing to do with the outcome (footwork, lateral movement, taking away kelly's jab were the keys to domination).

Further, it's not like hopkins wasn't a MW himself a couple years prior and 17 years older than pavlik

                    Also:

                    A) Pavliks next fight after Taylor was NOT Hopkins. Pavlik fought Lockett at 160lbs... and then moved up 10 lbs to 170lbs.

                    B) Pavlik Taylor II both weighed in at 164, regardless of the catchweight clause.

Why do we have to wait a few years? We already know it was a good win.

It's like saying Calzaghe's win over Jeff Lacy means nothing because lacy didn't do **** after the loss.
