reed, you know as well as I that 10 pounds didn't win the fight, the weight had nothing to do with the outcome (footwork, lateral movement, taking away kelly's jab were the keys to domination).

Further, it's not like hopkins wasn't a MW himself a couple years prior and 17 years older than pavlik
Regardless of Hopkins performance... It was not the same Pavlik to me.. he didnt move the same, didnt do anything the same. And I will NOT blame Hopkins 100% for it. The extra weight definitely effected him to a degree.

There is a reason we have weight classes.

And anything OVER 168lbs.. is a lightheavyweight fight.

      B) Pavlik Taylor II both weighed in at 164, regardless of the catchweight clause.
Answer me honestly reed - did the weight effect the result of the fight? Yes or no

Why do we have to wait a few years? We already know it was a good win.

It's like saying Calzaghe's win over Jeff Lacy means nothing because lacy didn't do **** after the loss.
Pavlik fought Taylor at 164... regardless of the contract. They were 164. And they was NOT the fight right before the Hopkins fight.

Pavlik fought at 160lbs before he fought Hopkins.

Yeah. Then moved back to 160. Kinda like what he did after Hopkins?

How can I answer that? I saw a different Pavlik... I think half of it was Hopkins using angles and the other half was the extra weight, Pavlik couldnt move like he normally does.

Let me ask you a question... are there weight divisions for a reason?

Does putting on 10 pounds NEVER effect a fighter?

Why is it that Trinidad, Tarver & Pavlik all of them weren't the same guys against hopkins? what a crazy coincidence!

Reed, I really expect you to understand this more than most people. You put a guy like pavlik in front of any fighter like bernard hopkins and he is going to look like absolute ****.

And I will NOT blame Hopkins 100% for it. The extra weight definitely effected him to a degree.

Hopkins would have done the same from 120 to 220, same result against pavlik. It's about styles, not size. Further, pavlik is a big middleweight, he had no problems making the extra weight and that was his & his trainers intentions (moving up in weight).
