Reed, I really expect you to understand this more than most people. You put a guy like pavlik in front of any fighter like bernard hopkins and he is going to look like absolute ****.

Hopkins would have done the same from 120 to 220, same result against pavlik. It's about styles, not size. Further, pavlik is a big middleweight, he had no problems making the extra weight and that was his & his trainers intentions (moving up in weight).
That's your opinion and you're fully entitled to it.

The weight effected Pavlik.. I am not saying it lost him the fight.. but Hopkins would have had a harder fight if that fight took place at middleweight.

Pavlik the killer was based on Pavlik the middleweight.

    Weight DOES effect fighters.

LOL, what movement does pavlik normally have? He moves north & south, THAT'S IT. He never fought anyone like hopkins before in his life, he does not know how to fight a guy with lateral movement.

Let me ask you a question... are there weight divisions for a reason?
Sort of, but I've always maintained on this website that weight isn't as big of a deal as some people make it out to be (I mean eddie chambers can beat a guy that's 100 pounds heavier but kelly pavlik putting on 10 pounds against a 43 year old, god forbid!).

The problem is Natas.. you take it as me completely discrediting the fight when I'm not.

IMO... Hopkins didn't fight the best Pavlik.

The best Pavlik is the Pavlik at 160lbs.

It's a good win.. he gets credit.. especially at his age.

        Just don't OVERRATE the win.

Well you maintaining the same stance doesn't really mean anything to me.. it just means you have the same opinion as you did before. As do mine.

          Weight DOES effect fighters.

It effects mobility, punch output and even stamina.

That's your opinion and you're fully entitled to it. I do not personally believe that and most people agree when I say hopkins would wipe the floor with pavlik at any weight class.

It is strange though that certain types of fighters, tarver, pavlik & trinidad, all have their worst career performances against hopkins and all say the same things like, "that wasn't me in there", "I just didn't feel right" etc. Is it a wild coinsidence or does it have to do something with hopkins style?

I mean ****, even when hopkins loses they look like absolute **** (calzaghe, taylor, **** even jones didn't look that great all those years ago). Crazy coincidence once again!

                    I'm not ducking anything.

He doesnt have movement like Paulie.. but he can effectively pressure you very well.

I agree. Unbiased rankings always > biased rankings IMO, even if the system has some flaws.
