    pretty much.

as 147 rankings go , whoever wins in may will be the #1 147 fighter especially if it's mosley.

for now pac is #1 though since he just beat 2 top 5 opponents in a space of 4 months.

mosley hasn't even fought in more than a year.

what if he's not fighting floyd in may and had been fighting a tuneup with say alfonso gomez.

if gomez beats him he becomes #1 at 147 over pacquiao and mayweather?

like i said ratings are based on opinions of skills and recent fights. it's not passed around from loser to winner.

you bring football and basketball up as an example.

take the college rankings , does the team who beats the current #1 automatically become #1? no.

      same with boxing rankings.
Yes. He beat the champ, then he became a champ. I consider ranking as a title. As the #1 fighter, you must defend it. There is a circumstance that Pac or Floyd can get the #1 spot. It's either Shane will move up retired or move in weight. Basketball ranking is determined in no. of wins. Im talking about actual game not rankings.

        three. each.

mosley came back to 147 in 2007.

he beat collazo , lost to cotto and beat margarito.

pacquiao beat delahoya , beat cotto and beat clottey.

you counting mosley's resume at 147 from 1999-2002?

if that's the case roy jones should be #1 at 175 right now.
i asked you a simple question how many ww fights does shane mosley has fought and the correct answer is not 3

but right now shane mosley has that spot
yes you have to work your way up. you can work your way down too.

pacquiao got to #5 at 147 by beating delahoya (right or wrong)

4 months ago he beat cotto who was #2 at the time and clottey who was #5 last week.

mosley hasn't fought in 14 months.

a simple answer sometimes doesn't answer a question.

              maybe to the simple minded.

              mosley has fought 3 147 fights since 2003. that's 6-7 years.

you don't count fights from 7-11 years ago when making current rankings. that's just ignorant.

having a scheduled fight doesn't add to one's current ranking.

floyd lost his #1 ranking because he retired.

do you know mosley hasn't fought longer than mayweather was retired?

inactivity counts against you just as much as retirement.

ranking is not a title. rankings are a list based on ratings.

that's why rankings change all the time.
