a win by mosley is a guaranteed top ranking at 147.

a win by mayweather might not be.

pacquiao = wins over cotto #2 , clottey #5

mayweather = wins over marquez (unranked) , mosley #1 or #2

a mayweather win over mosley doesn't guarantee him a #1 ranking. it all depends on how he wins.

We will know on May 2nd. It's a 3 way tie now. If activity is the main focus Manny Pacquiao easily, If the weight of 147 is the focul point then Mosley is the man, an if consistency is what you want then Floyd Mayweather is the logical choice. I could agree with most posters on these arguments.

i rate those wins easily on the same level as pacs victorys at the WW division.

while i rate mosleys WW resume over pacs and floyds, he beat a prime de la hoya at 147, and margarito who was rated as #1 ww at the time mosley fought him, also by the ring magazine i bet.

and if floyd beats shane, there is no doubt he is #1 WW in my opinion, would be bigger than anything pac did at WW, doesnt matter how he beats him.

team pacquiao never wanted a fight with mosley, the WW king came twice to their gym and they send him both times back, and u think pacquaio deserves to be rated as the best ww?

rankings has nothing to do with history. rankings are based on skills , estimations of how you would do against future ranked opponents , recent wins and how you won.

if you don't know how rankings work you shouldn't talk about it.

mosley had a hard time against mayorga, lost to cotto, and beat a flat footed margarito...while pac had an easy time, basically schooling delahoya, hatton, cotto, and clottey

i like mosley, but i dont like the fact that he struggled against mayorga and lost to cotto...thats not the kind of result that comes from a #1 ranked welterweight
