The whole southpaw myth, never made any sense considering two of Mayweather's best weapons is the straight right hand and left hook.

Exactly, such high hopes before, now it's just slomo video/one arm/Las Vegas conspiracies.

The posters in this thread had a point. The Philly Shell stance doesn't work well against southpaws because it is designed to absorb punches coming from an orthodox stance. However, Mayweather compensated for this by using angles and controlling distance against Manny. If Floyd had stood flat footed against Manny he would have gotten hit a lot more than he did. But instead Floyd used movement, controlled distance, and implemented spoiling tactics whenever Manny got close enough to land. That's why I believe Floyd would have beaten Manny no matter when they fought. Manny has never been impressive against counter punchers or guys who move well.

Pacquiao-Mayweather was like Leonard-Duran III and Leonard-Hearns II. We don't know what would have happened when Pacquiao had his aggression and grit.

Yes we do-he would've faced a Mayweather that had the same height and reach advantage just more speed and power.

It was nothing like Leonard Hearns 2 lol. That fight was action packed and a clear robbery. Both Leonard and Hearns were closer to their primes than Pacquiao and Mayweather were when they fought. If this fight happened five years ago we get the same fight albeit a lot more explosive than what we saw on May 2nd.
Freddie Roach is on record saying he's had the same game plan for five years and if you heard him in the corner during the fight the gameplan was to "feint Mayweather until he gets on the ropes and then throw your combinations." It was basically the same game plan Roach had for De La Hoya vs Mayweather. Roach had learned nothing in those 8 years.

The comparison is that Leonard beat Hearns the first time they fought with aggression and ferocity, the second time they fought Leonard was obviously past prime and didn't have that same aggression to overcome the physical disadvantages. Same with Duran beating Leonard the first time, after the first fights Duran didn't have the same hunger, by the third he was past prime and was boxing a longer, faster boxer. Same with Pacquiao, Pacquiao was blitzing people and wasn't afraid to jump on you, by the time the Mayweather fight came on he was tentative and regardless of gameplan he was old, and like I used to argue with other Floyd spastics, obviously that plays more into Mayweather's favor than Pacquiao's.

"IMO", I can't see a more ferocious, fresher Pacquiao not beating the crap out of a more daring Mayweather, and like it was further proven in their dud of a fight, Mayweather has a tendency to fight back after being hurt, in their primes it would be a vicious cycle vs Pacquiao that he wouldn't win.

Yes, no version of manny has the skills to do what Jose, Miguel, and Marcos did

More aggressive manny gets his azz beat worse.

His aggression will cause Floyd to strike more. It'd be like Floyd-Hatton. Neither manny or ricky have an intelligent way to close distance on Mayweather

I'm not sure this idiocy even deserves a response. Pacquiao isn't gassing like Hatton and he's not gonna walk into Mayweather in a straight line with no headmovement eating the same right hand over and over. Is it too much to ask on these forums for people to have a little objectivity? That is just downright disrespectful to an ATG.
