last time I checked...Hopkins was planned to fight Taylor before Winky was thought to be a factor in the MW division...when they finally did sign, Winky was already scheduled to fight Tito...now Hopkins is on contract to fight Taylor while Winky just beat Tito...Hopkins is not going to go back on his contract with Taylor for a no money fight with Winky...

I knew that people would start saying Hopkins is ducking Winky and that Hopkins is a fraud for not fighting Winky...Hopkins had a plan for Taylor, Tito, and Johnson/Tarver winner I think...he doesn't have to fight EVERY new entry into the division especially when his career is just about over

Look at Sugar Ray Robinson, 19 losses...
He would eat Nard and his "20 defenses"

If Nard doesn't fight Winky cuz of his record, then that ain't what a true champion does...

IF (if is the key word) he doesnt fight Winky Wright, I will not respect him like I respect Robinson, Hagler, Griffith, Grebb, Monzon,Basilio, Fullmer,Lamotta, etc.

      They did not duck anybody...
      Spot on mate!...

say he took on wink. wink would make him look like trinidad for 12 rounds.that isnt what you wanna retire to after being undefeated 10yrs..hell no,b-hop will play it smart and go after the less technical powerpunchers that he knows he can easily tire out and win a UD on.
The reasons you've just noted here are EXACTLY the reasons that Hopkins is bad for the sport!

This is surpossed to be BOXING!... And these guys have to prove they're the best by beating the best! Hopkins can go on and continue to fight, Morrad Hakker - William Sloppy - Carl Daniels - Robert "shot" Allen etc (whilst waiting for Judah/Mayweather/Morales to move up to middleweight) until he's got to 30 defences for all I care... He's still not gonna get any respect from genuine fight fans if he doesn't step up!

I guess you don't respect Ray Leonard then, for retiring rather than fight Hagler, waiting until Hagler was out of his prime and then fighting him?

or what about lennox lewis?i guess you don't respect him either since he 'retired' after facing vitali.

don't act like we're talking about two fighters in their primes;that would be pretty weak to see a champ duck someone his age.we're talking about a grandfather vs a kid in hopkins/wright-a 20 year age difference..

I thought that the winner of Tito-Winky had a contract or was mandatory for Nard...

no way i would pay to see them fight. unless they had a mad insane undercard.

e.g. mab-pac, jmm-morales, castillo-corrales, kostya tszyu-mayweather, klit-klit, arce-hussein, odlh-vargas, rjj-tyson. maybe if all these fights were on the undercard would i pay to see a snoozefest with winky-bhop. and at that i would prolly not watch those two fight.

Theres absolutely no reason for Hopkins to fight Winky. Not enough money for him to take a fight like that. He has a couple more fights in him left..and he wants it to be BIG money fights. Winky beat Mosely..at middleweight..which..is too entirely impressive..but he did dominate Tito..but BOTH of them werent true middleweights. Lets see him fight some good true middleweights before we claim Winky as a "star".
