Hopkins is a pain in the arse... He's a bully! The reason he's ducking Winky is because he's afraid of losing. Hopkins says he'll go up to Light-heavyweight and fight Tarver/Johnson but Hopkins says a lot of stuff that he doesn't do.

He's taken the Taylor fight because he knows he can beat Taylor. I wouldn't be suprised if over the next few months we start to hear Hopkins bad mouthing Judah, saying - "He eats like a model coz' he's afraid to step up in weight and challenge a REAL man!"... Hopkins just wants the little guys, and although Winky would be ANOTHER fighter coming up in weight to face Bernard - Winky also posesses a lot of skill.

Read between the lines. Winky is one of the hottest fighters out but there is no money in a Bhop/Winky fight. Whatever? Sounds like a duck to me no matter how you slice it.
using the word "******ed" wasn't nice, but abdiel has a point.

Winky wasn't even a middleweight until 10 days ago! The Taylor fight was already signed, and Hopkins says "one more fight" after that - and that's at light heavyweight.

      That's hardly ducking Winky...

Hey Winky may not have been a middleweight until 10 days ago... But that's never stopped Bernard fighting little guys before.

And Winky is naturally a bigger guy than Trinidad/De La Hoya.

The only reason I can think of why Hopkins might not take the Wright fight is because people might start to say, "This is getting ridiculous now!... Hopkins will go down in history as the guy that was most able to entice smaller fighters up to middleweight"... "Little bit of a bully really?"

B-Hop can't face the fact that he now got himself a man of his own size. LOL. I mean Winky is a big doo though he would be comin up in weight nah mean? Winky would beat B-Hop in my opinion no problem!

But first, B-Hop gotta lose to Taylor first. He aint gettin past my homie, man! Taylor will beat B-HOP!

Taylor will beat Nard and then we will have Taylor-Winky....If Nard beats Taylor he will move up to face Johnson, He doesn't want any of Winky or Tarver...

If Hopkins ducks Winky I will not give him the respect he's looking for, if he's looking more for a PERFECT record, then **** him...

He is a hall of famer, no doubt about it, but NO WAY will he be even close to the greatest middleweights of all time...

Look at Sugar Ray Robinson, 19 losses...
He would eat Nard and his "20 defenses"

If Nard doesn't fight Winky cuz of his record, then that ain't what a true champion does...

IF (if is the key word) he doesnt fight Winky Wright, I will not respect him like I respect Robinson, Hagler, Griffith, Grebb, Monzon,Basilio, Fullmer,Lamotta, etc.

              They did not duck anybody...

he's 40+ years old. winky is in his prime and has one of the best jabs the sport has ever seen. it's not exactly a dumb move to steer away from the bull with the best skills in the sport currently.sure, it tarnishes hopkins legacy a little bit,but personally i think he's smart for doing it.

say he took on wink. wink would make him look like trinidad for 12 rounds.that isnt what you wanna retire to after being undefeated 10yrs..hell no,b-hop will play it smart and go after the less technical powerpunchers that he knows he can easily tire out and win a UD on.

ok, damn 1st of all Winky is not that nice. There ive said it!

Winky coudlnt beat Vargas struggled 3 times to beat Bronko Mcgirt. He beat a real small fighter in Mosley and he beat the only superstar with no boxing skils in Tito. Hes not indistructible. Specially against a fighter who studies his opponents and is smart in the ring like Hopkins.

Even Papa Trinidad said, "we didnt real look at Winkys past fights, We're more focused on Tito's skills than Winky's weakness"
