He has every right to refuse Floyd's demands at the moment unless the commission steps in.
I agree. But why was nobody concerned before Floyd made these allegations and demands? Why is NOBODY questioning any other fighter in the sport? Why does NOBODY want to answer this question?

All of a sudden Pac should have to do this after being slandered? Floyd never worried about this until a fight with Manny was being discussed. All of a sudden he should be able to change the rules at his own whim? Bull****. If the governing bodies or state athletic commissions put this rule in effect and Pac refuses.....its all on him. Until that time Floyd is the one I see holding up the fight by trying to make his own rules. I don't want to hear anything about Floyd meeting Pacs demands. Fact is Manny didn't slander Floyd and try changing any rules. If Floyd wants this fight he can follow the same rules as everybody else. If he can't accept those rules, like he always did before, he doesn't really want to fight.

A lot of people seem to want to blame Pac. Where were all you people, and why weren't you worried before?
I understand your point of view, but you must consider that times have changed. Theres is a need for OST in all major sports, especially one like boxing.Instead of asking why now ask yourself why not. I can garuntee you cant produce a single solid reason why OST wouldnt be beneficial to the sport,it has 100% upside. Also think about the effect of the best fighters in boxing being the pioneers, what if kobe, lebron and dwade decided push for OST in the NBA. The others will follow thier lead and the sport will only become better.

Honestly I did care but there was nothing that could have been done. Think now is the best time, especially considering how HUGE Mayweather and Pacquiao have become. Look how quickly this all spread. Anyway check out this thread,

Im all for it. Make it a rule though and not an exception. I just want to know where everyone who bitches about Pac not taking the test was before? I want to know why we don't hear them complaining of every other fight out there (including ones with guys who HAVE TESTED POSITIVE before) and other fighters? Why is Floyd also not doing this if he is sincere and REALLY wants to clean the sport up?

Truth be told, none of this was an issue before Floyd's dad planted the seed. After that, everyone who is a fan of Floyd suddenly thought it was a super idea, agreed and said they suspected all along. Everyone suddenly became an expert on PEDs, their effects etc.

The fact is that nobody cried fowl about Manny beforehand. Everyone thought the existing NSAC testing methods were acceptable.

I said this earlier and everyone seemed to glide over it. Lets say you go into your job tomorrow. Your boss calls you into his office and demands you start getting randomly tested for drugs. The rule only applies to you though because your boss has a whim. Would you do it? Not if you had any integrity.

This is what it all comes down to. Not cleaning the sport. It is nothing more than a personal attack on ones character. If Floyd cared about the integrity of the sport he would have appealed to the NSAC. Nothing more, nothing less. The only reason they brought this into the negotiations is to stall or stop them.

Because Pacquiao is a big mainstream star at this point. Most people know who he is now not just Filipinos, boxing/sports fans, but pretty much anyone with a TV. The whole steroid allegation hit mainstream news and prevented the biggest fight in decades from happening. That's why people are concerned.

I doubt most people believe Pacquaio is on something. Fans and critics were just amazed at Pacquiao's greatness and never thought of him being a cheat. What he's done is extremely rare, but not impossible. Look at what Henry Armstrong accomplished. Look at Hearns, Duran, Leonard, De la Hoya, Whitaker, and Floyd himself. They all went way above their original weight to win titles. Pac just took it one step further.

It's a myth that he's actually gotten that much bigger as well. He weighs almost the same on fight night nowadays as he did when he was fighting at 130. He just doesn't have to cut anymore weight and rehydrate before fight night. Mosley said himself that he had to lose muscle to make 147. I think Pac had to lose a lot of muscle to make 122-130.

As a fan, OST drug screens would be great for the sport, but we need to quit making allegations as fans. Let the boxing commision decide, not Mayweather. I don't think Floyd's scared and Pac has always tested clean. I doubt anyone on this forum is a doctor or expert on PEDs. All I know is that I want to see the fight happen.

Something can always be done my friend. Even if its something as small as shining a spotlight on the problem. My point is, I see tons of posters blaming Pac for the implosion of thew Floyd fight, but none of these people were worried about this testing before and don't really give a **** about it happening with any other fighter. Now nobody wants to talk about this bias. Make the new test a rule and I'll back it. But to only talk about and blame one fighter when there is so much more to boxing? That I cannot accept.

Is it really any different? It is still being singled out. It is still unfair practice. It is still essentially pointing a finger at someone directly over nothing more than a hunch. Everyone says Manny walked away from 40 million. Right now 40 million is nothing to him. Being treated like someones *****, being dictated to, character assassination etc would make me walk, especially if I knew the other party needed me more than I needed them.

Right now if Manny agreed to those tests, passed them all with flying colors, you know what would be said? Many if not all of the accusers would be saying he is using some sort of masking agent and knows how to beat the tests. His reputation is already tarnished. He will never get that back because in the world of accusations and propaganda, he will never be able to walk out of the shadow of su****ion, tests or no tests.
