They are not "worthless", but their rules are not the be all and end all and never have been. Even their own former administrators have more or less admitted the testing they have in place in insuffient and the bare minimum.
For an example of your own example bypassing the NSAC's rules, how about the NSAC official size of welterweight gloves? Margarito, Cotto and Arum all decided that they knew better than the NSAC and decided to make the fight with 8 oz gloves instead of 10 oz gloves.
And you would rather deprive the boxers their own (more important right) to a clean opponent just for your own convenience and entertainment? They are both asking for additional stipulations than are required by the Commissions. The Commissions make the rules its the same in every sport, NFL, MLB, NBA whatever. Your job as a boxer is to box if you want to clean up the sport and change the rules become a Commissioner. Dont deprive me of seeing a fight because you feel the need to do the Commissions job.
And I thought it was common knowledge that boxing is run in a completely different way to the other sports you mentioned? You know, the fractured authority, etc. that several Pacquiao apologists used on here to flesh out their arguments against "Olympic Style Testing" a few months ago?Comment

If the fight had fallen apart over Mannys stipulations its his fault, they didnt. They fell apart over Floyds stipulations, therefore its his fault
Big difference being Pacs rules weren't deal breakers. I have no problem with fighters asking for extra stipulations as long as they are prepared to take criticism if their extra stipulations deny fans of a mega fight. Anytime the requests become demands then its a problem.Comment

And you're okay with that? Wow.Comment

In a vacuum, this sort of reasoning makes sense. In the real world, we ask the question why. Floyd asked therefore it's his fault is illogical. Not everything occurs in a vacuum.

100% I just want to see the best face the best. Im out for my entertainment which is why you'll never see me jocking any fighter this is about my entertainment I dont deny that at all. There is testing in place at what point is enough enough? I spar at the gym should I also demand blood tests before getting in the ring? Just because you want something doesnt mean you get it. Life sucks that way. They are not "worthless", but their rules are not the be all and end all and never have been. This is such an obtuse way to look at it. Not everything in the world is black and white. Especially not in the world of boxing.
Floyd's "rules" were only a deal breaker because Pacquiao seemingly has something to hide. If Pacquiao had just accepted without all the fuss he made then this stuff would have been one three page thread on boxingscene and we'd have already seen Mayweather v Pacquiao and forgotten all about the OST.Comment

I'm not saying they're worthless.
I'm echoing the sentiment of many a Floyd stan as of late.
In regards to the gloves,
thats well within the rules defined by the NSAC.
Its not bypassing any rules when its clearly within the rules as defined by the NSAC.Question: What are the gloves sizes based on the boxer/kickboxer's weight?
Answer: Athletes (boxers/kickboxers) weighing-in up to and including 135 pounds must wear 8 oz. gloves in competition, while athletes weighing-in over 135 pounds (junior welterweight class and above) must wear 10 oz. gloves in competition. However, athletes weighing in over 135 but not more than 147 pounds may wear 8 ounce gloves in competition if both athletes agree to do so in writing.
You're gonna have to try again.Comment
