...and this seems to be our point of disagreement. You believe Mayweather asking for better drug testing was wrong, like Pacquiao asking Cotto to come in smaller than normal?Hes at least as much a mind reader as he is a rule maker/
Why cant people understand Im against all fighters making ridiculous demands? I was more against the 145 than I am for Floyd thinking he has authority he does not. Floyd has more right to ask for testing than Pac did to demand 145, but 2 wrongs dont make a right/
What purpose does asking Cotto to cut weight serve except to give Manny a slight edge?
Now what purpose does asking Pacquiao to engage in a stricter testing regime serve? It ensures no illegal performance enhancement will be a factor (on both sides as Mayweather will also be undergoing the exact same tests).
Now how are both of these requests the same?Comment

Then the blame lies at the feet of the Commission, if the rule makers fail to make a rule fighters can not be criticized for rules that are not if place.More than he was required to do.....to make the fight? No. To prove he's clean? No.
So what? To me it just looks like a very flimsy attempt at saving a bit of face.
More than is required by NSAC, you know the people who make the rules. The fact Floyd demanded additional testing means nothing, hes a nobody when it comes to the rules.
It may be enough for you but it's not enough to conclusively prove he's clean, so what the hell was the point of it? If he's so willing to give blood why not randomly too?
At what point does it become conclusive? Ive read on these boards that the cheaters are always 2 steps ahead of the testers, so how conclusive are any of the tests, really?
Oh come on. We all know that the state commissions play second fiddle to promotion companies, fighters and contract clauses. And like they would have done anything even if Mayweather did write them a polite letter or whatever it is you expect him to have done instead of trying to directly make sure his opponent was clean. They haven't the money nor motivation.Comment

And Mayweather does what in the mean time? Just grins and bears it while his opponents load up on God-knows-what?
This is not a simple blame game for Mayweather, he actually has to get in the ring with these guys unlike ourselves.Comment

Since the boxers are fighting in their states perhaps? What makes you think Mayweather gives a **** about cleaning up the sport?
Yes, immediately. So he took a direct route rather than faffing about with the NSAC who are unlikely to do anything anyway.
Since when are state commissions in boxing these ubiquitous figures of authority? Every promoter and their grandmother has the power to go above them in contract negotiations if they so desire.
Its funny though,
many are calling for the commissions authority to come into play and ban Margarito,
but when it comes to having authority over someone like Floyd,
suddenly,
the commissions are worthless.Comment

Doesnt excuse Floyd for resusing to fight for rules that are not in place.
They are both asking for additional stipulations than are required by the Commissions. The Commissions make the rules its the same in every sport, NFL, MLB, NBA whatever. Your job as a boxer is to box if you want to clean up the sport and change the rules become a Commissioner. Dont deprive me of seeing a fight because you feel the need to do the Commissions job....and this seems to be our point of disagreement. You believe Mayweather asking for better drug testing was wrong, like Pacquiao asking Cotto to come in smaller than normal?

If the rules weren't sufficient for him maybe he should have stayed retired. He wouldnt be a the first boxer or athlete to have to face someone on unnatural substances its an occupational hazard if he doesnt like it maybe he needs to find new work.Comment

The rules aren't sufficient enough for Pacquiao either. Should he retire too?
All big name fighters make their own rules during negotiations. Let's grow up and stop acting like everything is ironclad in a sport with no oversight.Comment
