When you say no one, are you referring to boxing fans, or the sporting world in general? Because from what I can tell; The NFL, MLB, NBA, and Olympic officials have been worried about it for some times. Their respective fans cared and continue to care about eliminating potential dopers through stringent testing policies as well. It's only natural for boxing to join the fray.
NOBODY was concerned before

You can stop now. All the major professional sports organizations spent the previous decade looking to improve their resting policies, and obviously, they continue to do so. -
Look, if you don't know what the thread is about don't respond. I could care less about all the other major sports right now. The facts are that not the fans, commissions, ABC organizations or fighters themselves were worried about testing before. It simply wasn't a big deal. Now people wanna act like this should be on Manny. Why wasn't it an issue before Manny, THAT is the question? As I already stated, there was nothing on the news about boxing and steroids before. A tiny blurb when Jones and Toney tested positive, no outcry like there is now. Tell me how come. Why didn't you give a **** whether a fighter was juiced or not before Floyd started making accusations and stipulations?Comment

Your thread says, and I quote, "Nobody", in all caps for emphasis. You mentioned nothing of boxing specifically. Obviously, sporting fans and organizations similar to boxing cared, hence the reason for the massive move towards more stringent testing policies in the last decade. What you should be asking is why boxing is taking so long to do what other sporting markets, sporting markets bigger than boxing I might add, have attempted to implement for the past eight or so years.Look, if you don't know what the thread is about don't respond. Who cares when and why the move for more stringent testing policies was made? It's irrelevant. What matters is that something is finally being done for something that was long overdue. Fact is, the standard policies used by NSAC are stagnant. People should be applauding Mayweather and Sauerland promotions for their efforts to clean up the sport. What they're doing is for the greater good, and as you see, commissions such as NYSAC are looking to join the movement. It's as imbecilic as asking a seasoned physician why he's using unorthodox but effective and efficient methods to cure a dying man when he found that previous methods were incompetent. What would anything be, whether it be life in general or sports as an entity, without appropriate advancements?
By the way, weren't unorthodox testing methods proposed in one of the Holyfield-Tyson fights?Comment

^^^^ That's it. Floyd's demands has put a spotlight on a problem a lot of people knew existed. Having a high-profile industry figure saying it simple provides a base for casual fans to address the problem.Comment

who said he does not want to be tested? He wanted to be tested but not under Floyd's terms. 14 days vis-a-vis 24 days, remember? No one was concerned Pac made a million excuses not to be tested? Since when.
Thats what made me suspect him the most. People have spoken out against the cheaters in the past. I know I did.
Alot of people including myself didnt know testing like this was feasible in boxing. Now that we know it is with the info I heard about Abraham. Lets do it. Lets get these big fights signed.Comment

i guess everybody don't have a problem with the commission's rules before, and that includes floyd for 40 fights. that being said, i highly doubt floyd's ost demand is a one man crusade to clean up sport. i wouldn't be suprised if in his next fight there will be no ost.Comment

better testing will make the sport we all love cleaner how can anyone see this as a bad thing?
they should implement random blood tests in all big fights/title fights!
For a sport that is as potentially dangerous as boxing I think it is paramount to know that your opponent is clean. i think Mayweather bringing this to the public and medias attention and putting a spotlight onto it is great and the first step to making these tests a standard procedure
Every sport evolves its about time boxing did well done Floyd!Comment

Weak ****ing argument. Like the **********s saying you shouldn't learn about a guy because no one "knows about him". **** that. It is an issue. It should be the norm. God bless Mayweather for bringing it up.Very simple question. Why was NOBODY concerned before about OST until Floyd decided this was a deal breaker to fight Pac? No one was worried about it. No one was saying a word. All of a sudden Pac should have to do this after being slandered? Floyd never worried about this until a fight with Manny was being discussed. All of a sudden he should be able to change the rules at his own whim? Bull****. If the governing bodies or state athletic commissions put this rule in effect and Pac refuses.....its all on him. Until that time Floyd is the one I see holding up the fight by trying to make his own rules. I don't want to hear anything about Floyd meeting Pacs demands. Fact is Manny didn't slander Floyd and try changing any rules. If Floyd wants this fight he can follow the same rules as everybody else. If he can't accept those rules, like he always did before, he doesn't really want to fight.
A lot of people seem to want to blame Pac. Where were all you people, and why weren't you worried before?
Also, little *****, no one was asking for 10 million dollar per pound penalties before Pacquiao. Mayweather accepted.
Your post suggests you are a FOLLOWER. Nothing original will come out of you while you think like this.
Also Floyd doesn't need anyone's permission. He came up with 24/7. Nobody thought about it before. Now you are probably watching that **** too.
Thread makes no ****ing sense.Comment

You figure that would be the logical response, but when fans have so much love for one fighter, and a similar level of hate for another, people become blind to the obvious.better testing will make the sport we all love cleaner how can anyone see this as a bad thing?

****** ass questions. It'd be like someone in the 70's asking Allen Breed when he felt it was necessary to add airbags to automobiles when "nobody" before him felt it was necessary.Comment
