The guys on the list include Erdei, Murat, Kostecki, Cleverly, Diaconu, Uzelkov, Bulanti, Muriqi, Spina and Lucas. No television network will pay to see Dawson fight any of those guys. The only rated fighters he might be able to get on TV against are Jones Jr. and Danny Green and they are tied up with their own fights, and Dawson probably wouldn't want to waste his time with either of those guys anyway.
QUIT ****ING AROUND... Nathan Cleverly is a box office star!

In all seriousness, thank you for the excellent post which is based entirely in truth.

EXCELLENT argument. However, the IBF and Tarver are different en******. Had Dawson fought Cloud, Tarver's attorneys would have put Dawson in the same financial realm as Jose Luis Castillo.

I blamed 0 on the sanctioning bodies by the way.

HBO said NO! to Cloud/Dawson and Dawson is contractually obligated to them at this point I believe......he was totally willing to fight Cloud but because of Cloud's lack of notoriety, which is his own fault speaking of inactive fighters, that HBO wouldn't put up the $$$ for him.

I'm actually surprised Dawson wants to fight Pascal, given that he's a risk.

I'm tired of his inactivity, his failed promises (Dawson said 2010 would be the year that he would shut his critics up), and overreaching for opponents that do not want to fight him (Hopkins).
Erdei - The guy who fought no one in his reign. His best win at LHW is JC Gonzalez... Right, so... not impressed.

Murat - Has a win over Campillo. Anyone know anything else about him?

Diaconu - That guy coming off two losses? YES! Much more impressive than Dawson. Not to mention, Dawson is fighting the guy who beat Diaconu twice. BUT BUT WHY IS HE WAITING SO LONG TO FIGHT PASCAL?!?!?!?!?! My guess is because of Pascal's shoulder injury.

        This is becoming embarrassing.

the IDIOT troll is NO fan of dawson. that's nothing more then a cover up so that he can spew his hate that he has against the guy (DO NOT BE FOOLED) the ret@rd is arguing "why did dawson fight top contenders over BUMS"....and he's crying about it.

this is just a European idiot who hates how good dawson is. trust me, i have argued with PLENTY and can spot one from a MILE away.

if you're good you're good regardless of nationality, but some REFUSE to see this.

who complains about dawson? DAWSON!!!? dawson murdered adamek for goodness sake and cleared his division. complain about someone that is ACTUALLY ducking fighters such as khan u azz crack.

10 month lay off is because there is not too many top fighters LEFT in the division. and for the VERY few that's there they want no part of dawson. that's what happens when you beat most of the top guys in your division. it becomes boring MORON.

Dawson doesn't need to fight anybody in the top 5, he just needs to fight someone credible. Murat, Erdie (especially Erdei) and Diaconu are credible. Erdei just beat a top 10 cruiserweight, if Dawson beats him, it would be one step to silencing his critics.

I would love to see Dawson vs Diaconu, but Diaconu is probably still recovering from his last fight. Inactivity is one of the worst aspects of today's boxers and something I can't stand. If inactivity wasn't an issue people can easily assume David Haye would beat Wladimir Klitschko.

You know who else was credible? Undefeated Adamek. Who know who else was? Tarver who picked up the IBF belt by dominating Woods (which is certainly much more than Cloud had done at that point). One more? How about Glen Johnson, who arguably beat Dawson (I don't score, so I don't have a problem with either result... it was close enough)?

Murat, Erdei and Diaconu are all paling in comparison to the three you outlined. Anyway, Pascal is better than those three... and clearly, except possibly in the case of Erdei where you could make an argument to the contrary.

Erdei has had a history of not making big fights. I know you are going to ***** and moan about Dawson's resume, but... seriously... is anyone going to complain about Dawson's resume stacked up next to Erdei? Hell no. Erdei is the one who is hesitant to make real fights, while Dawson is cautious at best, and in reality, I feel like he has no problem making real fights.

I like this post, Diaconu would be another fighter he could face to build up some serious hype and maybe they can guarrantee a sellout and make it a bit more intriguing. Just my thoughts

Lol, the TS is bitching about Dawson fighting Tarver, and the raking him over the coals for taking a (contract mandated) rematch... Tarver in the rematch had lost one fight in the last two years. Diaconu has lost two in a row. Yeah... I'm just not convinced the Diaconu fight is going to do much for Dawson.
