As a Dawson fan I want Jean Pascal to beat Dawson.

He didn't necessarily duck Diaconu (and I hate Diaconu), but backing out of that fight in 2008 was not a good move by him and his team imo.

He's entangled in the politics of the sport too much, especially by the sanctioning bodies. He's always wondering why he doesn't have a Hopkins/Mayweather/Cotto type of draw, and it's because he's too inactive.

who should he fight then at LHW?

If Dawson is cherry picking what is Khan doing? And Dawson isn't nearly as entangled in the politics of the sport as Khan. After all it was Khan, not Dawson who had his promotor negotiate with his mandatory so that he could duck him for an entire calendar year without losing his belt.

Dawson is one of the 5 best fighters in the world and he is going to humiliate Pascal in front of Pascal's fans. If Pascal goes through with the fight, which I doubt he will.

Right now Pascal is the best fight available for him. I agree with the TS in one thing, his inactivity sucks, but no way he's cherry picking, Johnson gave him nightmares in the first fight and he fought him again to clear any doubt, the Tarver rematch was unnecessary but it was a contractual thing and Cloud hasn't beat anybody he should've fought Johnson and BTW Hopkins said he would fight the Johnson/Dawson winner but he decided to fight the beyond-shot Jones Jr.

And, TS don't forget that Dawson signed to fight Diaconu. They were suppose to fight on the same card with Tarver. And, it was Diaconu who pulled out of the fight with a hand injury or something like that...

Then why did Dawson dropped his WBC belt to fight Tarver instead of Diaconu in 2008?

Why does he constantly call out Hopkins and Calzaghe despite both boxers refusing to fight him? He can try getting their attention by fighting some of the younger top contenders which he has still yet to do.

The youngest top contender LHW he has fought was Tomasz Adamek which was 3 years ago. Good win, but come on.

most nonsensical thread I've ever read in my time hear at NSB....the guy fights Glen Johnson and beats him twice (the Road Warrior happens to be the #4 ranked LHW in the world at this very moment) he beats Tarver twice, he DESTROYS a young prime Adamek...and he's a cherry picker??? Who is there left to fight man?? who?? BHop said he doesn't want to fight Dawson, he renegged on an offer he made last year. He signed to fight the winner of Dawson-Johnson and renegged after Dawson won....flat out I've been sayin this for a while- Dawson has ATG level skills and talent he simply doesn't have the stage to display it. Its really painful to see him having to wait till the top of the year just to fight Pascal in what will be an easy UD that folks like the OP will say was a "boring fight, that he should've won" smh

And, then Glen Johnson proved in his next fight that he has a lot left in the tank by beating Yusaf Mack who was a top 10 fighter. And, a solid fighter in his prime. And, Johnson won that fight quite easily after getting outboxed by Dawson.

I agree that he should take at least a tune up before Pascal, but too tired to type up ***** so take from my post what you will...

these dudes say, "Who has Chad fought? He's chasing after 40 year olds and is ducking Cloud/Pascal/Diaconu etc"

They bring up Johnson by saying "Chad fought an old man, got hurt and almost lost" but some how don't realize the ******ity of their comments. as Calzaghe also fought an "OLDER man" in Hopkins and actually got knocked down and also almost lost. Hopkins wasn't on a roll when Calzaghe decided to fight him. He was 2-2 in his last 4 fights and looked HORRIBLE in his win against Wright. Then they bring up Tarver saying "Chad only wants to fight old men" but some how forget that Calzaghe chose Jones who hasn't been significant, is more past his prime than Tarver and also got KTFO by Tarver more recently than Johnson lost to Hopkins and just got LIT UP in the first round by Danny Green. Tarver was the IBF and IBO LHW champion. What belts did Jones have? Why would Chad have chosen to fight Cloud, Pascal, Diaconu over Tarver? Where they ranked higher than him? Were they bigger names then him? Of course not.

The Rematches

Tarver had a rematch clause in the original contract when Dawson and Tarver first fought. Dawson had no choice. Why take another fight and prolong the rematch? Why not just get it the **** over with and put it behind you? After the Johnson fight, the majority of the boxing community wanted to see the rematch. So much **** was talked by Dawson retractors about the rematch not happening that it became the fight that most wanted to see Dawson commit to. Dawson does and what happens? These same people are complaining about Dawson not giving the more unknown LHW's a shot. Damn if you do, damn if you don't.

Well, Chad Dawson beat and DOMINATED WBC LHW Champ, Tomaz Adamek where he came in as the underdog. But after this win, Adamek was weightdrained? That wasn't an issue before going into the Dawson fight. And we can all pretty much bet that if Admek would have won, it wouldn't have been an issue afterwards. He then went ahead and fought one of the biggest names in the LHW Division by the name of Glen Johnson and then went ahead and DOMINATED another big name, one of the BIGGEST names in the LHW division by the name of Antonio Tarver. Besides Bernard Hopkins (who wont fight Chad), those are the other 2 big names in the division. Its wouldn't have made sense for Chad to go after the other LHW's. As a matter of fact, it would have been ******.
