As a Dawson fan I want Jean Pascal to beat Dawson.

Lol, the TS is bitching about Dawson fighting Tarver, and the raking him over the coals for taking a (contract mandated) rematch... Tarver in the rematch had lost one fight in the last two years. Diaconu has lost two in a row. Yeah... I'm just not convinced the Diaconu fight is going to do much for Dawson.

Yet you forgot to mention that the Tarver fight was a COMPLETE FLOP, and very few people even attended the fight, I think it was around 600-700 people. He gain little credibility beating Tarver because Calzaghe and Hopkins refused to acknowledge him as a possible opponent. What's even more sad is that he had to drop a belt to fight Tarver. He had to go through all that boxing political hoopla just to fight Tarver? RJJ in his prime did not have to drop belts and fought all the opponents he was suppose to fight. If Dawson is so good why does have to be so inactive right now? He's not injured, nor does he have problems with his management or promoter. The 10 months will affect him because he will be rusty.

Diaconu at that time was a dangerous opponent, and it's a fact that Dawson even went extra lengths to avoid fighting him, until he and the WBC agreed that Diaconu would be WBC interim in 2008. Tarver even encouraged Dawson to fight Diaconu.

After Pascal he really needs to consider dropping to 168. 175 is just an awful division and by him fighting Tarver and Johnson over the last few years his stock has dropped drastically. It's almost like he is wasting away his talents sticking in this division.

He didn't want to fight Diaconu in the summer of 2008 because he felt the money wasn't right despite losing his title and some credibility, that's cherry picking.

He constantly calls out Hopkins and Calzaghe despite both made it perfectly clear that they didn't want to fight him. Why doesn't call out some of the younger contenders? That's cherry picking. He literally sold himself to HBO.

Pascal can't make 168 anymore,that's why he moved up.

In an interview leading up to the Diaconu rematch he said he was offered a spot on the Super 6 but declined because he couldn't make 168.

Cloud has to make himself enticing for Dawson, and him signing with king and not making a defense of his title sounds like he is ducking Johnson to me.

Why is everyone so high on Cloud? what exactly has he done to gain such a fan base among hardcore fans? Beat 18 unknowns and 2 past prime gatekeepers 1 of them coming off a loss at that.

Cloud is only even being mentioned in the same sentence as Dawson because Dawson is cleaning out the division not because Cloud is proven as world class yet.....he will get his shot but most likely by default.

Why so hard on your boy TS? I'm not a Dawson fan by any stretch of the imagination, but what can you really blame him for? Diacanu is an injury-prone fighter and if Dawson would've went after him instead of fighting Tarver, Diac may have pulled out again like he did the first time and Dawson wouldn't have gotten a payday.

And I was one of Dawson's biggest critics because it seemed like he didn't want anything to do with Tavoris Cloud, but I'm incapable of criticizing Chad Dawson for the same exact thing that Cloud is doing only worse just because I like Cloud better when it comes to a crowd pleasing stand point.

I heard Dan Rafael say that he was in contact personally with Tavoris Cloud, and he isn't injured. He was afraid of Glen Johnson. Cloud might show balls inside the ring when he fights. But unfortunately, for me to be a fan of a guy they have to behave like a champion outside of the ring. That's why I'm glad that we've got fighters like Alexander and Bradley.

Dawson has got no choice but to wait for Pascal to get better, because his contract with HBO only guarantees him two more fights this year. So what's the difference if he fights, like in April and then in July than fight in July and then in the winter? Because if he fought in April and July HBO wouldn't have anymore fights or venues available for him anyway. Sorry for the long post, but this is a good thread and everybody has a right to their opinion.

Yeah but he also gained 2 more titles and some credibility for beating Tarver. After the Johnson fight ( when Dawson/Tarver 1 was announced), there was serious doubts about Dawson and many experts even choose Tarver to win.

I do think he should be more active though and thought that he should have fought Diaconu, although lets not pretend like Diaconu didn't nothing wrong either ( like pulling out about 2 weeks to go in their first fight when Dawson was trained and ready). Also, when Dawson beats Pascal ( who beat Diaconu twice and with one hand the second time) then that kind of erases that. No offense, but i remember you begging for Dawson to rematch Johnson and even when he beat him, you weren't impressed. The Pascal fight is already signed and I'm pretty sure he will fight the winner of Johnson/Cloud.
