I really think hes a huge Pac fan. I know he hates boring fighters like Flyod.
do you know why Dana White is so nice to boxing these days

I think boxing would be absolutely HUGE but...boxing needs superstars to do good ppv numbers.
ufc just puts on a show and it'll do solid numbers.
i don't know why.
it seems casual fans watch boxing if there's a big fight on.
ufc can get casual fans just by having a show.
maybe it's because boxing sells names. that's why the big name boxing events will usually do better than big name ufc events.
however ufc sells the event itself not just the name. that's why non-big events outdo non-big boxing events.
They arent run and operated like UFC fighters. Guys like Arthur Abraham, K2 Bros, P Williams, And many other boxing stars would be promoted more.
Look at UFC, guys in their 40's are big attractions just becuz they promote them well.Comment

The vast majority of UFC fans are trend followers.Thats why they can sell alot of cards that are not worth the money. The numbers show that the trend followers are starting to go away. Most boxing fans wont pay for a bad card like the UFC fans will.boxing needs superstars to do good ppv numbers.

this is true.
my friends they order boxing too but only for the big names.
but for some reason they buy every ufc card. (even though they don't know **** about mma)
they just pay to see somebody get koed or kicked in the head.
i've been following ufc since '93 and i don't buy as many ufc ppv as them. i buy few nowadays.
they don't know anything about mma and they buy every ufc. don't know why.Comment

you know that ufc 100 had every single one of the ufc stars on one card. Pacquiao and Cotto did 1.25 alonedo you know that boxing would kill for those ppv numbers?
ufc 100 did more than pac-cotto.
ufc 101 did more than mayweather-marquez to some sources.
The top five Pay Per Fighting events of 2009 are as follows:
1.) UFC 100 Lesnar vs Mir / St Pierre vs Alves - 1,500,000+ buys
2.) Pacquiao vs Cotto - 1,250,000 buys
3.) UFC 101 - Penn vs Florian / A. Silva vs Griffin - 1,100,000 buys
4.) Mayweather vs. Marquez - 1,000,000+ buys
5.) UFC 94 - Penn vs St Pierre 2 - 800,000 buys
Ufc is dieing because it got old fast. Tons of hype..same outcome. Random new champ.Comment

In spite of the fad "buzz", the UFC has never come close to being as popular as boxing. If you go to the website of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, there is a page that lists the top grossing boxing and MMA events (paid gates) held in that state. The top grossing MMA event (Chuck Liddell vs Tito Ortiz) would not crack the top 35 in boxing. In fact, the live gate for that event was less than the live gate for the Larry Holmes-Muhammad Ali match which was fought in 1980!Its because the UFC is going downhill fast and hes not in a position to talk smack now.The numbers from UFC 110 are in and there beyond bad.
In 2009 the UFC averaged 620,000 buys per ppv event. If we look at the percentage each event was above or below that average we can definitely see a downward trend from 100.
UFC 100 1,600,000 + 245%
UFC 101 850,000 + 29%
UFC 102 435,000 -30%
UFC 103 375,000 -40%
UFC 104 500,000 -20%
UFC 106 375,000 -40%
UFC 107 620,000 +/- 0
UFC 108 300,000 -51%
UFC 109 275,000 -55%
UFC 110 240,000 -62%
Average with title on line 820,000
Average with non-title main event 370,000Comment

how is ufc dying?
i know we're boxing fans and all but no need to be silly.
the ufc is doing fine.
they regularly do over 300-400k ppv buys.
300-400k is what fights like pac-jmm 2 , pbf-judah , pbf-gatti , cotto-marg , pac-morales 1 , 2 , 3 does.Comment
