i give him props for fighting shane now as it is the best fight.

i do think it is pacs fault the fight didnt get made, however, for years floyd has been saying he is the best and the elite when he has had a chance to prove it he didnt.

it is ashame because he is one of the most natural and skilled boxers i have ever seen. he just doesnt deserve to parade around saying he is the best.

hagler hearns leonard duran and all those guys fault eachother, the best out there....

shane has never ducked anyone, on the other hand floyd has been choosey, and that is a fact
Come on man. Stop with the nonsense because Shane said he
didn't want it with Paul Williams not too long ago and everyone
who has been following this sport since Mayweather's burst on
the scene knows that he wanted a fight with Shane and or De
La Hoya. It's documented that Shane didn't want to fight Floyd
on video and in black and white. If we are going to talk about
Boxing on here then lets keep it all the way real. The fights with
Margarito and Cotto could have happened but Arum wasn't coming
correct with the business and it is in my sig.

He allowed Cotto back into the fight and Cotto outworked him. A close decision goes to the champion in my book. Clottey is decent but not a finisher. A known balldropper. That separates the champions from the contenders. Aint nobody tryna here that "my leg hurt" bull**** this is boxing. Go hard or go home.
i never really understood the ol you have to take it from the champion thing.

i mean, we score rounds, mathmatically add them up and the man with more points wins.

i think clottey let the fight slip away from him, i scored more rounds for cotto therefore cotto won.

why score rounds if you dont mathmatically use them?

No probs...I guess that makes me New Skool ...u win the fight.. u win the belt + Had Clottey winning pretty easy tbh. If he was a bigger name he gets the decision.
'Breakdown' is a strange way of lookin at it.. 'balldropper' is interesting way to describe a career of a guy with 2 disputed losses V P4P boxers...but hey its all a matter of opinion

to be on top but for some reason he is missing some hunger.
It would be great for him to beat Pac and get his just due but
he is really going to have to want it more now than ever because
after he lost to Cotto it could have been a wrap for his career but
he got fortunate to land Pacquiao. While Roach and company are
sleeping on Clottey, I hope he takes that and uses it as motivation
to prove that he is a fighter that belongs on top and should be
          taken seriously.
Clottey reminds me of Donald Curry back in the 80's. Curry had the potential to beat the best but he could never really put it together when he needed to. Clottey's mental toughness will be be tested because Pacquaio will be putting pressure on him from the word go. If he can minimize Pacquiao's offense then he has a chance.

Understand it or not I wanna see a fighter legitimately win a championship, not by one point. Score rounds indeed but 6-5-1 even in a close fight is a draw or a win for the champion and calls for an immediate rematch unless the challenger wins the championship rounds. If the challenger is winning the second half including the championship rounds then you have a point but if it's like Cotto/Clottey where Clottey is winning early then allows Cotto to win the 2nd half that easily goes to the champion.

so its ok for floyd to run around and say he is the best but wont fight the best out there in cotto, pwill or marg, kosta?

but then a 38 year old mosley cant be choosey after winning the title?

mosley states he wants to PROVE he is the best by fighting the best.

floyd just states he is the best then fights a part time over the hill dlh, 5 years past prime and war tired gatti, then zab after zab loses to baldomir.

when did floyd call out shane? 10 years ago when he was irrelevant and not a PPV fighter. why would shane or dlh take that fight when they were fighting eachother in mega fights along with vargas tito?

point blank, an over his prime 33 year old pot shotting non combination throwing floyd is gonna get out hustled by a 38 year old mosley.

and if he beats shane then i will give him mad props. but i dont think he will

Clottey wish he had the Cobra's skillset. At least the Cobra won the big ones against Starlin and McCrory. The Cobra was a bad dude with a KO punch. I kinda get your point but The Cobra would've stopped Corrales early and would've been too much for Cotto.

Did Cotto ever call Mayweather out? I don't think so. Margarito called Mayweather out but his money value wasn't worth it. Paul Williams isn't even a household name. Where are all these elite fighters Mayweather ducked? He can call himself the best because he has beat all comers up to this point. You call his style pot shotting but most boxing enthusiast would call it strategic boxing. Mayweather doesn't waste punches and he is extremely accurate when he decides to lay hands on you. The fight with Judah was a grudge match and nothing more because he didn't need Judah. Baldomir had a belt which was a motivating factor in Mayweather's career at that time. Gatti called Mayweather out it was Mayweather's big coming out match on PPV. I guess the rest is history. When Mayweather wants to fight you he will do whatever he needs to to beat you. He adapts and adjust to out skill his opponents.

I can't argue with you on that. The Cobra did have KO power with speed to match. It's funny because most people only talk about Leonard or Hagler out of that era but Curry was a beast too.
