Part of being a great fighter is being prepared. I will tell you what made Sanchez an ATG, it was his work ethic. Now I don't want to turn this into MEx vs PR because I'm not into that **** but I will say that if you look at the history of Mexican and PR fighters, one of the biggest downfalls of PR fighters is that they get the belt, some money and dive right into drugs, women and the party lifestyle.

If I'm lying, let me know because I can name so many PR fighters that fell into that trap.

I think the reason most Mexican (I said most because there are exceptions) don't fall in this same trap is because of where we come from. Mexico is a 3rd world country, it's got poverty you don't see in PR or the U.S. People are hungry there man, people fight to eat, not to be famous.

Salvador ate, slept, drank boxing 24/7. People around him said he was a gym rat and loved boxing so much it was the only thing he cared about. He liked nice things as well but he was a very dedicated fighter.

If Gomez wasn't prepared, that was his fault. At the same time, I think Sanchez is just the better fighter and if they fought 10 times, Sanchez would win 8 or 9 of them. His chin, aggressiveness, determination work ethic, and counter punching was something Gomez couldn't deal with.
    Great Post Homie. Green K!!

Gomez did not fight like a weakened man. I mean, he put up a good performance, looked really strong, Sanchez was just better, especially at that weight.

I don't take the Puert Ricans on here seriously anymore. Hell, these are the guys who think being a pedophile is okay. Eric Morel is who I'm referring to.

If it was so, he took a chance and lost, he should had not fought or postpone it. In the end he took the fight and lost to a great fighter. Gomez also had discipline problems and started to believe in his own hype. I am a fan of both fighters and that was the outcome. I don't think Gomez ever recovered from the first knockdown in that fight

You've got Morales over Barrera. Good man. Barrera was a dirty ****sucker and I can't stand that glove skinning rich boy.

nope, he didnt. Nor he recover from that loss.

He says in the documentary that he cried the day sanchez died, because he wanted to beat him. He was traning for 3 months for a rematch with chava, but destiny played his roll, and the ATG Sanchez died
