Just as had dlj beaten Pacquiao, weight drained wouldn't be in boxings vocabulary.

Thats his fault, same goes for Sanchez too then, he didn't know the fight was on until 25 days before the fight. They were on even terms on that.

If your being racist about this, Gomez did KO something like 15 mesicans in a row. Check the record books. One was even undefeated at 50-0 (49).

Lmao!.. Come on Ch@mp! The first excuses I heard when I would bring this fight up is that Gomez was too small for 126..now he was weight drained?..

Sanchez whoops that boys ass even with a years notice..bazooka got his ass handed to him plain and simple..let the late Chava Sanchez rest in peace wit full credit of his and the rivalry's greatest victory.. PERIOD!

ps Tortilla Warrior manhandled the **** outta this thread..

Salvador Sanchez is not responsible for the schedule mix up.

Buster Douglas didnt ask Tyson to **** Japanese girls weeks before the fight

SRL did not ask Duran to finish a barrel of beer everyday prior to fight II.

Pac didnt ask DLH to eat Kangaroo meat.

                Full credit to the winners!

This is a fact; gomez was a champion and a fight begins in the training camp, even before it. If he wasn't in top condition he shouldn't have made the fight. He lost plain and simple and credit has to be given to where it's due. Sanchez was the better man that night and if it was because of gomez' own fault well the is no excuse. I would have loved to have seen a second bout where the outcome could have been different. But the fact here is that sanchez beat gomez and that's it

Its a documentary of Wilfredo Gomez life in and out side the ring. I learn that before the Salvador Sanchez fight, he was hanging out, going to parties, drinking, ect, ect. He got married and went on a cruise and the fight should have been postponed, but 25 days before the fight and 30 pounds overweight, he recieves a call from his promoter Don King stating and saying to him, that he needed to get back tht the fight was on and it was bein televise in the US.

So Gomez came back to PR to train with 25 days left for the fight. He struggle so badly to make weight that he only ate 1 meal in days and had to run in the Vegas desert to shred the extra weight. He was so weak, he could barely run to lose the extra pounds. And that fight was a same day weight in fight.

Now after learning all this, how can anyone give Sanchez the credit of beating Gomez, if he beat him in those conditions? I mean, thats even worst tha DLH vs Pacquiao. Probably Sanchez would had beaten Gomez anyways, that dude was no joke, but to give him credit for beating gomez in those conditions is ridiculous

This thread will probably turn into a Mexico sucks, PR are cry babies and all kind of insults from each side. But this is not meant to cause a flame war or anything. Its just my oservation on the matter, wich is kind of ridiculous situation to make a fighter, fight in those conditions!!
                      I will take the bait.....

Part of being a great fighter is being prepared. I will tell you what made Sanchez an ATG, it was his work ethic. Now I don't want to turn this into MEx vs PR because I'm not into that **** but I will say that if you look at the history of Mexican and PR fighters, one of the biggest downfalls of PR fighters is that they get the belt, some money and dive right into drugs, women and the party lifestyle.

If I'm lying, let me know because I can name so many PR fighters that fell into that trap.

I think the reason most Mexican (I said most because there are exceptions) don't fall in this same trap is because of where we come from. Mexico is a 3rd world country, it's got poverty you don't see in PR or the U.S. People are hungry there man, people fight to eat, not to be famous.

Salvador ate, slept, drank boxing 24/7. People around him said he was a gym rat and loved boxing so much it was the only thing he cared about. He liked nice things as well but he was a very dedicated fighter.

If Gomez wasn't prepared, that was his fault. At the same time, I think Sanchez is just the better fighter and if they fought 10 times, Sanchez would win 8 or 9 of them. His chin, aggressiveness, determination work ethic, and counter punching was something Gomez couldn't deal with.
