Dude your just trolling with this, the Lacy fight was delayed but took place. He also did pull out twice against Johnson that is true but that was years after he made offers to Jones and Hopkins. Johnson also lost his chance when he lost to Clinton Woods.

Are you saying Calzaghe wasnt serious about fighting Jones because he pulled out of a fight with a hand injury 5 years later?

I'v heard a couple ppl mention the Jones Jirov thing but have never gotten a full explaination/details of the situation. Do you think you could provide some backround on that?

I didnt say he ducked them I said he stopped fights with them happening for example:
Both HBO and Toney wanted a remtch but Jones wasnt interested why fight Toney again when you can fight a cab driver instead?

Tarver was Jones mandatory for his IBF belt and rather than face him Jones had his promoter Murad Muhamad write a letter to the IBF challenging Tarvers credentials and demanding that Tarver face Harding in a Elimination contest.

Funny that Jones never questioned the credentials of his other mandos like Woods and Frazier

i said the best not jeff lacy. are you comparing jeff lacy to hopkins and jones? why didn't calzaghe ever move up to light heavy to get a fight with jones? if he was serious he would have done that but he wasn't. he wanted to collect his easy paydays while calling out other people just to make himself feel important.

                Jirov Interview:
Curly: I know you are not under TopRanks banner anymore but do you think they will try to arrange that fight with you and Roy Jones?

Jirov: I would be very happy to fight him, you know anytime, its all up to him. I tell him anytime, just give me a call and tell me. We will fight tomorrow, we will fight anytime, anywhere Roy wants to.

Curly: So you will fight Roy Jones anytime, anywhere?

                Jirov: Anytime, anywhere.Yes.

Curly: The general consensus is that Roy Jones will continue to ignore you. In your opinion do you see Roy Jones signing on the dotted line?

Jirov: You know its like question, if it is the right time, right money, maybe he will. But same time I hear from people, like you writers tell me he never will fight me because my power, because I have beaten a lot of fighters, you know it just is too dangerous for him. He don't want to take the chance, you know.

``Roy Jones says there's no one out there to give him a challenge,'' said Jirov's manager, Ivaylo Gotzev. ``Well, here's somebody everybody knows, who's undefeated, who's a challenge.

``Jones just has a lot of excuses.''

Join the club, Xavier, but it doesn't look like that may be happening anytime soon. Even after months and months of talks involving match-ups with the likes of Bernard Hopkins and Vassiliy Jirov, Jones is taking on another "mis"-mandatory challenger. And despite what came out of the Jones camp or what other web-sites would excitedly and breathlessly report (the one about Jones facing Jirov in Dubai, being the doozy of them all), those bouts were pipe-dreams.

"Again, unless the deal is signed, sealed and delivered, I didn't think it was going to happen," said James. "Whether that was a Jirov fight or a Hopkins fight. I didn't think any of those fights were going to happen unless the deal was signed.

Dude lol, Hopkins turned down his offers and he was willing to go to America to fight Jones. If Jones wanted Calzaghe to move up all he had to do is say so instead of just pricing himself out so he can carry on fighting cab drivers for example:

Hey, it's a great gig for Jones, keep collecting these $4 to $5 million licensing fees while taking on the likes of Woods.

Even HBO, which in the past has staunchly defended Jones at all cost, is getting fed up with this racket. They are making no bones about it, Jones-Woods is being aired on their network -- not because they want to, but because they have to.

"Our attitude is we're reluctantly airing it," admits Xavier James of HBO Sports. "The bottom line here is I don't know how Clinton Woods became a top 10 light heavyweight and I prefer not to telecast it. But, contractually, we have very little latitude in that regard. As far as I'm concerned, I'd prefer Roy to fight a more competitive fight."

Jones didnt need to fight Calzaghe, Jirov or any dangerous challenger after getting his contract with HBO (after he beat Toney) which allowed him to collect $4m fees while fighting who ever he wanted. Why fight Jirov when you can fight a cab driver for $4m?

just saying something doesn't make it true. calzaghe turned down ottke, markus beyer and glen johnson. he won't fight those guys but he's willing to fight jones or hopkins? it's called lying.

Yeah cause Hopkins and Jones both ducked offers to face him. Spin it anyway you want, your hero's ducked The Legend Killer.
