Why did Hopkins turn down $3m to face Calzaghe?

The only fights i know of which Calzaghe pulled out of was the Glen Johnson fight twice and thier was problems during the Lacy fight. But all of this was after 2004

He postponed the Lacy fight and he postponed the Jones fight.
But I dont believe he ever did at the time Nard agreed to fight him.

Of course just because I'm a Calzaghe detractor doesn't mean that I'm not holding Bernard Hopkins accountable for the way he's conning the fans too. What he's doing is worse than what Calzaghe did. At least Roy Jones was on a winning streak when Calzaghe fought him.

Hopkins wanted no part of Calzaghe back then for the $3m he was guarenteed. He was only interested in facing midgets like Vargas, Mosley and Oscar. Roy Jones told him to go away and face little guys to build his name and thats what he did. He avoided a real offer from a real fighter in Calzaghe to bully little guys. Hopkins is the fraud not Calzaghe. Calzaghe wanted him for years but Hopkins ducked him.
