Maidana is an intense pressure fighter, who knows how to cut the ring off and always finds a way to land some of his punches. Roach knows that, even if you don't. He's a far more talented fighter than Prescott, and Khan's chin and defence have not been tested since the Prescott fight.

If you think Khan would win easily, you should be one of those showing disgust for the way Khan's team is ducking his mandatory and resorting to bribery to persuade Maidana not to enforce his mandatory for an entire year. If you're right, then there's simply no excuse for that. That behaviour only makes any sense if you're wrong.

I can't believe the hypocricy in boxing. Joe Calzaghe gets slaughtered because of his reluctance to fight in the states. Yet HBO have proved him right. Why should he, and other British boxers be expected to give up big gates and paydays at home, for lower paid, high-risk fights abroad? There is no real incentive to. Just like there was no incentive for Hopkins and Jones to travel to the UK to fight Calzaghe. American boxing fans always make the point that the U.S is where the money is at, and European boxers have to travel there to be taken seriously and hit the big time.

Well Khan has come knocking, but the American T.V networks, media, and boxing community isn't answering.

Come home Amir, earn the money your name commands, and pick your fights. They can't say you didn't try to give it a go in the states.

Rubbish - most of the fight reports at the time stated that they had scored it to Maidana. It was close and could have gone either way - I'm not one of those who call it a robbery - but no way was it a clear win for Kotelnik.

Rubbish. They pay what the market dictates. If the budget doesn't go to paying Khan $1 million for his first fight in the States, then he'll have to fight for less.

The reason Calzaghe was criticised was that his reluctance to fight in the States arguably cost him some legacy-building fights. But in this case, the opposite is the case - Khan-Maidana had been agreed for Manchester by Warren, and GBP are ducking Maidana. Legacy-wise, beating Maidana would mean far more than beating Malignaggi, because of Khan's chin - and because real champions don't duck fights just because they consider them to be risky.

Furthermore, Warren was in serious negotiations to stage Khan-Bradley in the UK in the summer, and Bradley's team have confirmed that they were close to signing. Whereas GBP have told Bradley they have no interest in making that fight. So legacy-wise, the move to the States has been very harmful.

It's ironic that Warren should for once in his life have been trying to make meaningful fights and GBP should be over-protecting Khan, but ironic though it is, it happens to be true.

The only fighters I think will have any future success with GBP are Alvarez and Kirkland (if he stays out of trouble) because those guys I think actually have talent. Linares, Ortiz, and Khan use GBP as sugar daddies to take the easy way to the top.
