GBP would be ****** to put in Ortiz against Alvarado at this point. Mike's been inactive, but the kid is a beast (Top Rank would probably put him in there against Ortiz when Alvarado shakes off the rust). An aggressive pressure fighter with good punching power is not a good recipe for Victor right now. Alvarado's even bigger than Ortiz at 140 too (btw check out Mike's KO of Clottey... sick).

I think Khan vs Campbell and Ortiz vs. Alvarado would be a more interesting card and they would save a good amount of money since Campbell won't be asking for Paulie money and Alvarado won't be asking for Campbell money. Win win imo and better fights.

He'd better go after a bigger name opponent thats all I can say. It's not too late to try and get Berto before they put pen to paper with Quintana. Also there's Judah and Bradley. I do like the idea of Khan-Campbell and Ortiz-Alvarado however. Also GBP might have to tuck their tail between their legs go to Top Rank and try to make Khan-Valero, that one will get people talking and they could probably fight in Vegas or in Dallas.

I will believe this fight is on when I see the two of them in the ring together. There was talk of a Maidana fight. That resulted in a stitch up with Maidaina agreeing to NOT fight Khan for 3 fights or a year. Then there was Marquez and that fell out of bed and now this bull**** with Malignaggi. Finances may well force this fight to not happen then Khan will be forced to take less money and fight more bums while building his profile in the States. Despite the excuse that Maidana was not a big enough name for Khan's debut US fight I think we may see him open up with a Salita type opponent.

It would definitely be a more interesting, cheaper card with better fights. I wasn't really going at that, I was going at when you said GBP's ******. I was basically giving you the reasoning from their point of view.

It's smarter doing it the way they are now, but I would definitely prefer the fights you suggested.

Judging by the WBA Rankings I would say he is most likely to fight Brunet Zamora.

The Ring is saying Khan-Malignaggi is on. Why?

I was saying Golden boy is ****** because they keep getting getting Paulie on HBO paying him good money when they can in turn just get one of their own fighters.

                    Hatton/Paulie
                    Diaz/Paulie I
                    Diaz/Paulie II

They keep giving this guy good money on HBO and I don't really see the need to do it, he's very boring imo and he acts like he deserves big money, they can do better fights without the guy.

It's going to be hard to get Khan over here IMO. The guy has already made a lot of money and made a fan base in the UK so of course he is going to demand a lot but over here he doesn't have a fan base or a drawing power. Even if HBO can shell out a ton for him, the guys he is fighting are somewhat established and have made some money in their career so they obviously get a decent amount too. If Khan is coming to America he probably has to fight a bigger name than Campbell imo.
