The point im trying to make is that De La Hoya was in his best shape at the time he fought Mayweather, and his worse when he fought Pacquiao. De La Hoya's fight with mayweather shouldnt of even been that close, Mayweather whopped his ass from the 5th round on.

He actually won a minimum of 5 of the first 7 rds......so really the notion that DLH was in the fight early was a myth.

PBF started punishing him in rds 9 and 10!!!!

You blame Floyd because his opponents can't lay a glove on him?

Please learn what "boxing" actually is before you come and post on a "boxing" forum.

Perhaps you would be better suited to MMA....plenty of braindead fans who follow that boring ass sport.
i respect the fact that everyone got his own style and someone like more see fights toe to toe.and i dont think pbf does run at all.

i dont know wat ur definition of elite is but can you tell me what elite fighters were around in welterweight when floyd was there that he didnt fight? cotto?? not elite imo...margs???definitely not elite...pac, floyd and mosely are the only fighters that can truly be described as elite in the welter division for quite some time...every1 else was up n coming or were just merely good fighters...

To you clowns who think Floyd will get into Shane's head prior to fight time, then you have a lot to learn. Shane has been around the game for too long, plus the very simple fact that while Floyd may possess a boxing brain, his intellect leaves a lot to be desired. An Ali he most certainly is not. He spits the same untruths, the same diatribe E-V-E-R-Y S-I-N-G-L-E T-I-M-E.

If Sugar Shane can work on his jab, and I mean considerably work on it, then he is in with a shout. This attribute along with the fact that Shane is a big, strong southpaw, could spell trouble for Floyd. While he hasn't been dragged into the trenches, he has struggled most against those of the southpaw variety.

Lets hope Shane tags him early, and upsets Floyd's momentum. Otherwise, I anticipate Mayweather running his way to victory, especially in the later rounds.

          Too little, too late perhaps.
Thought Shane fought orthodoxed. Name some southpaws FMJ has struggled against.

          • He couldn't stop the lightweight champion of the world. There is no way he will break down a tough opponent like mosley with those brittle hands of his

i dont think floyd duck's fights...i think he fights the ppl who make him the most money. is he shallow? yes. is he a punk? no...now i dont agree with his money grubbing personality but srsly where would boxing have been without a heel like him for the last 5 or 6 yrs???manny is a great fighter but he has no personality...who else is out there to attract mainstream sports fans?? loev him or hate him, the guy is goof for boxing
pac monster has no personality that's not true he is a big star because of what he does in the ring and also what he does outside of it he has heart and a loving soul that makes people wanna see him I'm not shooting down money he is I belive a bigger star then manny but give manny some credit

i agree pac has a big heart and he is an excellent fighter in the ring. but man, im sorry he has no stage presence. he has little personality out the ring. in fact, if it wasnt for mayweather's accusations about steroids, i woulda never thought pac had it in him to show his hatred of another opponent. have u watched his 24/7s???not nearly as entertaining as mayweather's or for that matter even hatton's...

I respect your opinion but do you think anybody floyd beat would beat margacheato or cotto? imo cotto is elite he was in with everybody and he will get in the hof that's why I feel he is elite but margs is another story you can say he is not elite but cotto was there and money should have got in the ring with him after he beat shane imo

i agree. i felt Floyd was beating him to the punch everytime. Oscar looked frustrated. i was really surprised when some said they had Oscar winning. Floyd's style can confuse some into thinking he's not in control when he's got total control.
