meyweather did not fight a prime hoya and that's his only elote fighter on his listWhat you saying is true, but the same goes to pacquaio too. Mayweather fought a primed De La Hoya, at his true fighting weight. And he fought a primed Ricky Hatton too, how come people over look this when there giving manny credit for feats and accomplishments that mayweather already acheived.Comment

I don't think so. I see Floyd winning a decision by sticking and moving. I don't expect any heavy flurries of punches or damage inflicted on Mosley. If he means breaking him down mentally, that could be true. Shane shows it when he's losing confidence. But Floyd won't administer a physical beating that tires and/or hurts Shane in the fight. His key to victory is more so his legs than his fists.Comment

People don't overlook his victories, but simply analize them to a great degree. Mayweather did fight De La Hoya, but not a prime De La Hoya as you pointed out. Also, Mayweather won a razor thin decision, in which the outcome could have been different had Oscar not faded and stopped using his jab. Pacquiao's victory was both different, but more impressive due to the sheer odds he had to overcome. He beat a weight drained, over the hill Oscar, yes, but he did it in brutal, and as always entertaining fashion. What you saying is true, but the same goes to pacquaio too. As far as Ricky is concerned, Cortez's refereeing in the Floyd fight was de****able. That's not to say that Floyd wouldn't have still outclassed him, but at the end of the day, it wasn't a fair fight. Floyd had Cortez in his pocket, nuff said. Again, while Manny fought a shot Ricky Hatton, he brutalised him. This speaks volumes in itself.
However, all this being said. I have Floyd over Manny. It's a close call, but styles makes fights.Comment

as much as i like Shane, im sorry to say that Floyd is going to put on a boxing clinic on May 1st. and ofcourse, those of us who are already fans won't complain, but we all know there will be something for the haters to talk about it. theres only one man for Floyd to beat to shut everyone up for good. and it will happen.Comment

He was more primed and at his proper weight class when Mayweather fought him, and mayweather's list of tough fights go back to 135. Not a weight drained de la hoya. Talk about prime fighters that pac man couldve fought while moving up in weight, lets see 135lbs, you had Nate Campbell or Juan Diaz, who did he opt for David Diaz, at 140, you had a host of fighters he couldve chosen from, Timothy Bradley, Lamont Peterson, Kendall Holt,**** even Ricardo Torres, and who does he fight, Ricky Hatton. Im not saying pacquiao doesnt deserve credit for what he's done, im saying that there should be more of an outcry for him refusing to take random drug test after all the excuses that his camp has surrouding this issue.Comment

That's great man, guard it with your life!. He was a great inspiration, and with the heart of a lion. May he Rest in peace. Too many good boxers have been lost. Darren Sutherland, from my own city, was such a great prospect. Such a damn shame. Anyway, great talking to you.
Gotta run..Comment

exactly........i don't get how a boxing fan dosen't see that. What Floyd does is the epitome of what boxing is about in the tradition of guys like Pep and Sweet Pea. It's about hitting and not being hit. It's about using your strengths to expose the weakness in others. It's called boxing for a reason. It's not called fighting or brawling.
they say his fights are boring. I find them entertaining.Comment

Please, razor thin, all of DE La hoya fights are razor thin, this is the same guy who got a gift of a win against Felix Sturm, a fight in which he lost. The point im trying to make is that De La Hoya was in his best shape at the time he fought Mayweather, and his worse when he fought Pacquiao. De La Hoya's fight with mayweather shouldnt of even been that close, Mayweather whopped his ass from the 5th round on.People don't overlook his victories, but simply analize them to a great degree. i agree with the above ****suckerThe biggest assumption or myth in boxing is that Mayweather is "soft" or not tough. Mayweather IMO is one of of the toughest and mentally strong fighters in the game hands down. People have this misconception since he's a boxer and has the name "Pretty Boy" and it's exactly the opposite. Mosley brings nothing that Mayweather can't handle and I'm 100% confident Mayweather boxes and puts on a clinic on May 1st. I can't wait....Comment
