Marquez will be at least 4 inches smaller. Khan will land at will.

"They want to match him with Khan, but I told him that's not a fight to take lightly. Khan is very strong and it's not a good fight for Marquez right now because he's not fully recovered from the Mayweather fight, which was just brutal. I think it's better to get another opponent. He should not be exploited again. Juan Manuel deserves to retire like a true champion and not as someone's stepping stone," Beristain said to La Jornada reporter Jorge Sepúlveda Marín.
      You're the man Nacho.

If it is about a Payday GBP has big money fighter in Hatton... who would bring more money than Khan... If it is about the payday you got Pac out there... Fine you want to set up a Khan fight but build it up... Have JMM fight like a Nate Campbell on HBO... An easier opponent, and have Khan on the same show fighting a Malignaggi or a Juan Diaz or an easy opponent... And, then have JMM-Khan as a PPV in September Mexican independence weekend and it would be more money for JMM... But, GBP is not giving a **** about JMM career right now... This is just a stepping stone for Khan... That is the way Golden boy is looking at this... You can tell when Schafer talks... Why is he going to mentioned about potential match ups for Khan against Judah and Floyd. How disrespectful is that to JMM?

I agree that Hatton-JMM is the biggest cash grab for Marquez. I think that this is a dangerous fight for Khan. And I can honestly see him stopping Khan.

My only thing is that even if JMM loses to Khan. There will still be big fights for him. Katsidis, Valero, Hatton, Soto etc...If Schafer thinks Khan will walk through JMM he will be shocked.

In some ways GBP has treated Marquez like **** and has not looked out for his best interest

            1. Marquez vs. Diaz... You could clearly see that Oscar and co. didnt want Marquez to win this fight they wanted Marquez to be a stepping stone for Diaz, just look at their reaction when Marquez KO'd him... it was a, "aww damn it"... reaction

            2. They feed Marquez to Floyd for a beating... Oscar damn well knew Marquez had not chance, even if Marquez was a welterweight he woulda got his ass beat, Floyd style is just wrong for Marquez

            3. And now they're trying to use Marquez as a stepping stone again for another one of their up and coming fighters... If I was Marquez I'd say **** that and wait for Hatton... Marquez vs. Hatton is the fight for Dinimita... **** Khan

Nah man, JMM has no business above LW, at least a fight against Hatton at 140 would've been interesting, but just against Hatton. Khan would be too young, athletic, fast and strong for him. He looked very sluggish against Floyd and he was slightly above 140, they're screwing him.

this matchup has all the makings of a boring ass fight.
                i think it'll be a pose fest.
JMM will try to sucker khan in, but khan doesnt have the ring smarts or instincts to attack JMM while avoiding being countered, so hell just stay on the outside and use his length and wheels to keep marquez at bay.

5 months later and Marquez still hasn't recovered from the brutal Mayweather fight? Not bad for a runner.

i agree with berinstain,,marquez is too small for khan, khan is big jr welter, jmm is lightweight,barely...he should be fighting lightweights, but if he does decide to go to jr welter,he should first fight a tune up then go after khan, even so,i think khan will win not because he has more skills than marquez, but because he's bigger and more importantly,he's younger and hasn't been in any wars like marquez has,he's a lot fresher, marquez has been in wars with diaz,casamayor,pacman,floyd..khan only in one and it lasted a minute, only two, three punches, thats all

If there's no Khan vs. Marquez then maybe we can get Marquez to fight Bradley. Khan can step in and fight Berto instead of Maliggnaggi getting that fight.
