It is not an ethnic but a regional dialect. If you noticed people from the NE say "cah" as opposed to car (I refer it as Kennedy talk). Some people say hunnert instead of one hundred. Some people say foh instead of four.

Curiously enough, it's an older pronunciation of the word "ask" which comes from the word "acsian". The current pronunciation of the word as "ask" is actually the corruption of the word as it was originally pronounced. Many people from the West Indies and Southern States of America still pronounce it the old way.

Im pretty sure floyd can pronounce "task". Cuz if he had a problem pronouncing it, hed be saying "Tax" all day. We all know how much he ducks the word and the IRS.
