the best? I mean, isn't that when Flyod wanted to fight him?
When Shane was at his best? Floyd didn't fight Forrest, Winky
or Cotto but I know for sure Floyd wanted Shane.
The first time, he moved up two weight divisions to fight the P4P #1. Plus he'd been struggling to make weight at Lightweight. Plus Floyd wasn't even fighting at Lightweight, he was still a Jnr Lightweight, so it's not as if he was considered a contender at Lightweight yet. No one can validly criticise him for fighting a prime De La Hoya at Welterweight rather than a Jnr Lightweight at Lightweight, that's just silly.

The second time, De La Hoya, who was his boss at GBP, didn't want him to take it because DLH wanted to fight him first. Mosley couldn't say that in so many words so he made up a silly excuse about his teeth and a holiday, but once the Floyd-DLH fight was over, he started calling Floyd out.

Well Forest and Winky would both have owned Floyd in the ring the reach different would have been too much for Floyd.

Matthew Hatton said he was approached by team Mayweather, and so did Malignaggi. I believe a Mexican boxer also he said he was approached by them. Mayweather didn't deny those stories.

I think the fact that he's not fighting them nor ever came close to it illegitimises these stories in and of itself.

The whole post-Pacquiao scramble was just a bunch of sensationalised off-the-cuff comments, time biding tactics and promotional jabs. I believe there was a brief period before Berto's withdrawal where Mayweathe really was left high and dry without a viable opponent but once one presented itself he jumped on the opportunity and the rest is history.

Again, I see no substantial basis for criticism.

Ok, so according to all of this I outlined that you said. Mosley
turned down the Floyd fights, so in actuality, Mosley didn't want
to fight Floyd. My point is, how can people validate Floyd ducking
Mosley but that clearly wasn't the case. Also, how could you say
it is ok for Mosley to move up and fight De La Hoya the first time
but not ok for Floyd to disregard Mosely and try to make the Pac
fight happen? Sounds like your making excuses for Mosley but
coming down on Mayweather for making his excuses. Fact of the
matter is, as it turns out, Floyd wanted to fight Shane because
he is the one that reached out to make the deal.

He did but the timing was wrong. He certainly didn't duck him.

Neither ducked the other. I've never claimed Floyd ducked him. But I (and quite a few Floyd fans, including Wess) were very disappointed that Floyd twiddled his thumbs for several months when he could have fought Mosley in January (possibly even in December) and then Pac.

He could have made both fights happen.

Anyway, this is all irrelevant now. As you say, the important thing is that the fight is happening. I was just saying why a lot of people don't give Floyd full props for the fact that it's happening; but whether you agree with them or not doesn't matter, because all that really matters is that it is happening - and it should be a great fight.
