Not even close on either front. First off Vargas had never been down in his career. After Tito drummed that head, he got knocked down or stunned in every fight since. There were about 3-4 fights after he fought Tito and before he fought Oscar where he got dropped or stunned by bums in every one of them. He was concussion prone after Tito. Had he fought De La first he would have beaten Oscar. He just had no chin after Tito.

Then excitement wise Tito vs Vargas was way better for all the above regions. He had not been down until Tito knocked him down 5 times, then he was chinny before he even got to De la.

neither man ruined him they were just better fighters then him and defeated vargas but if i had to pick i would say tito just for the fact that he gave him his first loss and it was a brutal one. i think the oscar fight did more damage to his confidence and ego i think he truly believed that oscar was soft and when oscar beat the **** out of him like he did vargas had to question how tough and good he really was.

Trinidad pulled a Cotto low blow move in the 4th against Vargas.

Agree with the bolded completely. If you saw the build up to the fight, Vargas thought he'd completely destroy DLH and it wasn't fun joking, he truly disliked him.

Once you get a concussion, you know that your more prone to geting them. Tito gave Vargas his first knockdown of his career. And five total. After that fight, every time he got hit he went down. Jose Rivera put him down after Tito, but before Tito, Vargas ****** with Ike cortez and walked right through shots.

I HAVE NO DOUBT IN MY MIND THAT AFTER TRINIDAD, VARGAS WAS SEVERLY PRONE TO CONCUSSION BY EVEN THE MOST FEATHER FISTED OF FIGHTERS.

I think it was Trinidad also. That fight was at a time when Trinidad looked ****ing amazing.

His footwork was excellent, his body looked perfect, he had cobra like speed and unbelievable power and hit Vargas with everything he had.

The Oscar fight might have ruined him psychologically, but Trinidad took his body.

Oscar didn't ruin Fernando anymore than Shane. He was chinny before he fought either. Tito made both he and myorga chinny, and gave both of them brutal beatings and THE FIRST KNOCKDOWNS OF THERE CAREERS.

Trinidad took his heart, Oscar took his soul

I just think the Oscar fight is the fight that truly finished Vargas. I never really thought Vargas was all that great, despite some of his impressive wins. I think his 'greatness' was just more hype and he really bought that hype. He thought that Oscar couldn't carry his jock strap and when Oscar beat the **** out of him, it really ruined him. I think both fights were super exciting

No option for Vargas ruining himself or his management team for throwing him in with Tito so early? I think it might be one of these!

Shane Mosley was the one that ruined him.
