DLH vs Vargas was way more exciting, and had the drama. Those 2 really hated each other, I think DLH hurt Vargas physically and emotionally.

Trinidad beat him up pretty bad. And the low blows did some damage too.

I am gonna go against the flow and say DeLaHoya.

            Why?

The build up to that fight was intense. Vargas talked endless trash and said very nasty **** about DLH's family. It was one of the few times DLH got pissed and it was a battle of Cali boys of Mexican descent for basically all the marbles.

Vargas fought like a warrior but end up not only on his ass but also busted for steroids after the fight.

I think this deflated him completely and he ballooned up in weight, and then took money fights later only half believing.

Whereas, he got knocked down a bunch with Tito, but also dropped Tito and anyone who saw that fight came away with respect for him.

But I feel DLH ended his dreams for good.

The Trinidad fight ruined him.He took Trinidad's best shots to the cranium for twelve rounds.Vargas has been damaged goods since that fight and I don't put much stock into what he did after that fight.

Trinidad fought an inexperienced kid and went through life and death with him before picking up one of the most impressive wins of his career.Had Vargas had two more or three more years of ring experience, then he would have beaten Trinidad,De La Hoya and any other fighter at 154.

Trinidad vs Vargas was one of the most exciting fights of the decade.....DLH-Vargas doesn't compare.

Trinidad-Vargas was an excellent highly electric fight. But still, he fought well after Trinidad until DLH finished him.

Vargas was one tough dude though. You knew if he wasn't fighting back it had nothing to do with him not trying. We could always use more fighters like him. I don't think there was a boxing fan in the world who didn't like Vargas, it was heartbreaking when he came back and wasn't the same.
