i havent seen him since 2008. So if you guys are saying hes improved then my assessment could be very far off. I dont just throw out comparisons like that for nothing, thats honestly what i thought of him in the 10 fights i saw of his televised.

Gamboa has actually fought pretty decent opponents for a guy with 16 fights. Actually, him & lopez are very similar:

-Gamboa's opponents combined record is 307-56-7.

-Lopez' opponents combined record is 516-144-30.

-Lopez is 26 years old and has been a pro for 5 years and fought 27 opponents.

-Gamboa is 28 years old and has been a pro for less than 2 and a half years and fought 16 times.

        -Gamboa has a 87.5% KO ratio (14 KO's out of 16 fights)
        -Lopez has a 88.89% KO ratio (24 KO's out of 27 fights)

Look at how he squares up and how little he moves his upper body, he has almost no head movement and while his combinations are great and his power is great, that lack of upper body movement is exactly the stiffness im talking about.

I honestly believe Elio Rojas can beat Gamboa... I have watched his last two fights. Against Rojas IMO he was too open in spots... If Juanma-Gamboa fight I will take Juanma but it looks like it might not happen in 2 or 3yrs. A lot can change by that time...

Hmm, yeah you've missed at least his last 4-6 fights then. He got a new trainer after his fight with Darling Jimenez (is that the last time you saw him??) and he seems much more disciplined in the way he fights and again, more technical.
